HUGE Bears fan here. This game holds deep memories for me. I was transferring stateside from my Navy ship in Majorca, Spain and the flight was dreadful. I was severely hung over as my shipmates had seen me off the night before the flight. I left my military orders in Majorca on the first leg to Madrid and had to have the airline send them stateside asap. I was told I could enter the US on my military ID and the message copy of my orders that I had in my pocket. Two hours into the flight from Madrid to JFK, there was a medical emergency on the plane and we had to turn around and go back. The layover was five hours. They take siesta time seriously. During the flight stateside, the entertainment system went down so no movie or anything. To make matters worse, the plane caught fire about two hours from the US when an attendant who wasn't feeling well went into a rest room with some oxygen and ignited the butt some idiot threw in the rest room trashcan. It was put out immediately and never was a serious threat. Of course we landed hours late and missed any and all connecting flights. I landed at JFK, got bussed to a hotel and had to get up at 4am to get a shuttle to Laguardia for my connecting flight home. Beat, hung over and hungry, I turned on the TV just in time to see the Fridge score his TD. That made it all better. Cheers....
1985 was the BEST year of my life, both personally and sports wise. Looking forwards to Sundays watching the Bears…oh Lord , thank you for a dream year!
Caleb Williams didn't have his "A Game" against Tennessee yesterday; the defense wound up bailing him out in their come-from-behind win over the Titans yesterday. Bears shut them out after allowing them to take a 17-0 lead in an eventual 24-17 win. It wasn't pretty, but I'll take it. The Bears may not make it to Super Bowl 59, but maybe next year.
@chad3452 the Packers haven't been able to blow us out by 20+ points in the Matt Lafleur area if you think about it. The pack hasn't been able to blow us out by 20+ points since 2017.
You know if they made a Netflix series of the entire Bears 1985 season, every game, every interview, every back story I think it’d be a hit! I wonder how you’d do something like that? I’m going to the Netflix Corp offices and pitch my idea! 😊
As a Bears fan from that era, I remember many of the vets giving the impression that they really wanted to not like #72 and be jealous of the hype but he was just to nice a guy. He was just having fun. #34 deserved a td in the superbowl but still.
Da Bears were the best but I loved my Packers watching this game I was so glad that I grew up appreciating talent & great plays no matter who was making them. I only wondered one thing. Why was Jim Zorn 3rd string? He was really good. By the time they put him in the O-line was tired & feeling dejected. He really didn't stand a chance to display his skills.
I remember watching this game with my usual Monday night football guys. Two of which were Packer fans. Needless to say, they were aghast at how Perry crushed Cumbythose 3 times. 😮😮😮
Raider fan from outside Chicago, 85 Bears were the real deal, these guys destroyed the NFL, took a lot of grief in 84 Raiders vs Bears, they were awesome
“Experts” and detractors will say Walter Payton was the best halfback ever. No. SAINT John Madden had it right. Walter was the best _FOOTBALL PLAYER_ ever.
Too bad the bears suck..and have owned by the packers 30 years now...i was allways Walter Payton fan when we didn't play the bears....good look in 2024..that trend is gonna continue this season too..preseason don't shit ..the lioness went 4 n 0 in preseason and 0 and 16...
Blows My Mind.. That That Simple Bears Running Scheme On The Goal Line Hasn't Been Copied. Just Follow The Tightend & Huge Lineman Into Blocking At The Goal Line.

Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely awesome!
Did you run out of coffee too?
We all remember every detail, every smell, taste, sound we did and experienced that year. On my tombstone 🪦 I want written Ty God for 1985!

Back to the Future!

Loved 1985 myself! It was a magical year in my life also.
WHAT A TEAM THAT YEAR. the Bears should have won at least TWO more championships in the 80's.
Too bad they scrapped the "46 Defense." That was a killer defense the Bears had in '85.
@@KevinMiller-xn5vuAnd you have concede that when Buddy left, it really had a devastating impact on the defensive players!! 28:30
This is the team all others are measured by. They were spectacular
17:00... if the Bears would've used this play in the Super Bowl, Payton would have gotten his touchdown
man i remember this! when it used to be a rivalry... now green bay doesnt even hate us they jus laugh at us! thanks goofy mccaskey family
It wasn't really a rivalry in the 80's either. The Bears just laughed at Green Bay back then. Now it's only vice versa.
@@danielsoto8601 yeah true but even in 84' 85' 86' 87' the pack played us to one score games we jus get blown away now

@@chad3452…..the Bears will be back
We are all waiting for Virginia M to croak
I was born that yr. Still have all the VHS tapes from pops tapeing them.gotta get em remastered or something. But thanks for the upload. BEARDOWN!!!
Old Cowboy from the 60’s who loves Defense. And this Bear D is an absolute dream to watch
The defense was so good, people forget how good the offense was
Nice to watch a game without the screen filled up with text. You can focus on the play, the players, and the action instead of useless stats.
I was there!! The 'BEST' BEARS 💯⭐

I forgot how sloppy this game was, on both sides of the ball. That's the problem with nostalgia, you remember the good and forget the bad.
Nothing sloppy about the Bears D

Great era for the Bears. Nothing since. Bad draft picks. Jim Finks passing and no one his equal in the GM spot.
Loved Gifford called Walter his Highness!😊
Raider fan from outside Chicago, 85 Bears were the real deal, these guys destroyed the NFL, took a lot of grief in 84 Raiders vs Bears, they were awesome
Chicago got 4 players when they picked up Perry
They didn’t pick him up. They drafted him
Walter does the hard work and Perry gets the gravy.
Let’s hope the bears kick the packers ass this year
the hitting/tackling from this time makes the modern game look very soft
Fun vid
7:48……The Fridge destroys Cumby
That’s what happens when you have good coaches 😎
OJ sure enjoyed Perry that night.
Looking back Payton didn't really have a good year.😢
A time before GreenBay took ownership of Da Bears…
69-55-6 Bears ( 23-7 Chicago )
Suzy Colbert DID have great legs.
Who gets it?
“Experts” and detractors will say Walter Payton was the best halfback ever.

Jim was a punk son was mondo ...has been players that played in green while yall gettin used to being packers door mat
How sick is she

Good one. The 0-16 Lions were indeed Lionesses. Meow
