Here's my head canon for fractures: Melissa, the AI from ILB was sent back in time to multiple different times, fractures of herself creating fractures of spacetime resulting in alternate realities. In the 2004 fracture she arrived in Human computers, but in all other timelines she found herself inside the Forerunner computer systems of the portal to the Ark. Depending on the timing, her arrival resulted in each of the story arches described in the fractures included in season 8 and Halo Infinite. So basically, the Norse armors are built around fighting the flood, because when they witness the activation of the Ark's portal as a darling atmospheric shift, they travelled to it's source whereupon reclaiming the future tech of the Forerunners they invent their own Spartan program and go raiding old Forerunner ruins, eventually freeing the Flood centuries before the Covenant even discovered the Delta Halo. Similar events can be drawn from the various times that Melissa arrived from the future, each resulting in a different course of history. Japan? Probably around the start of their involvement in World War 2, before the Turing Machine was invented to possibly "catch" Melissa. And the others are just as fun. Anyway, that's how I'm imagining it in my own head canon. 😆👍
