    I think the diamond with the number in it is a Chicago Hardware & Foundry skillet. Chicago Hardware Foundry Co. operated from 1897 - 1938. The foundry was destroyed during a labor riot, and not much is known after that. That collection was amazing, most of us are lucky to own 1 or 2 waffle irons.

    Awesome pick! Great prices he gave you. Whatever you do, please please do not ever clean that cast iron with a bead blaster like he suggested. Never use power tools to clean it. I just subscribed to your channel. Enjoy you talking and saying what all the bottles are worth.

    I just googled Patty Bowl and found this: "Patty bowls were used with Patty Molds. Patty molds were made to make (from batter) a cupped or hollowed out pattern that once complete was filled to create deserts with a crispy exterior shell. Have you every had a taco salad in a shaped/fried taco shell? That kind of the picture but much smaller in size. There were cup shaped molds/irons and "rossette" shaped molds/patterns. If you have been in old houses and looked at the top and left corners of the door molding you might understand rossette in this sense and have good mental picture. The cup type molds were typically filled the rossette type mold created shells that were pretty much just powdered else covered with the dessert."

    A great place to find cast iron is your local scrap iron place just found a 10" chicken fryer, a 10 " regular skillet and another 10" skillet plus a lid that will fit either of the skillets. I paid .30 cents per pound and it only cost me 6.00 dollars for all. Happy hunting.

    I know this is an older video just found your channel love it gave you a like and subscribe, my grandma, and mother had a lot of this now they are mine . I believe I’ve got 47 pieces all together and my wife and me cook on a lot of it want nothing stick to it . I remember my grandma used to get me and my brother go cut white oak and it had to be white oak . We would build a big fire and put what she wanted in there it just blew our minds how clean and smooth it would make it . We still find ourselves looking for it at every yard sale flea market. Great video brother be safe

    Another great video....
    Serious collection and you did well to get so much from him lol
    I have a friend who does cast iron and he strips em clean in a lye bath then rinses them and submerges them in vinegar and scrubs with a scotch brite pad
    then he seasons them with crisco in the oven...
    He sells alot just because its ready to cook ...
    I tried to convince him to season it 3 times and he laughed at me🙂
    Thanks for sharing

Is it still for sale, and if so, how much?? Do you have an email address I can contact you through? I am also a GA resident and enjoyed your UA-cam site. Thank you.

    I have a huge cast iron that I use for making extra large size tortillas... it has a wooden handle I bought it new up at Farmers Market 3rd and Fairfax, I use it constantly... and a few other pieces I pretty much only cook in cast iron these days oh, I have a 500 lb Dynasty stove .... It's just short of needing fire suppression equipment... it's about 35 years old, had a hard time finding igniters when they went...LAXVESPA-LOSANGELES

    It's sad all those pieces are going to waste, and not being used. It's a shame tbh.

    • @BornIn1500
      @BornIn1500 Рік тому

      It's not sad. They're being protected and preserved. That's not "wasted". Think of all the neglected cast iron pieces that have rusted away in people's dark, damp basements and are now trash. THAT is sad. Think of all the old cast iron pots that young hipsters are using for flower pots and are rusting away outside. If anything, you should be happy that people like this guy exist to preserve this history.

    • @ronaldcoward9576
