- Do you have a wall electrical outlet? Well I have a solution. I wanted this particular device higher and with constant power.
I don’t know what I’m doing. This is not electrical advice. Consult with a certified electrician. UA-cam Certified doesn’t count, but that depends on who you ask.

So as a criminal, should I cut the wire or just unplug it?
u can turn off the Circuit breaker outside. No need to worry about electric shock :-)
Thanks for the video. I am not an electrician either, but I think leaving this plug outdoors permanently would require a different solution to meet NEC requirements (and overall would be a safer solution). I am watching your video because I am planning on adding a floodlight outdoors as well and there is no junction box currently. I am planning on extending electrical wires from a receptacle or a different junction box inside PVC conduit, since this is rated for outdoors. I see that your solution might work for you if you don't plan on selling the house or get any inspections. After several years of outdoor exposure, however, the plug will degrade and there is a risk of shock. Anyways, you still did a great job. :)
It should be “how not to wire floodlights” 🤣
By all means, please enlighten me.
Great video! This is just the solution I need.
Appreciate the time you took to make this video, but I must say that with $20 extra dollars spent you could have done this the correct way, and without so many code violations, and saved yourself drilling and sealing it back up.
Once I saw that you had an existing light only feet away from this camera placement, all my explanations of "this could be why they're doing it this way" went out the window.
NEC code violation!
Definitely doing this but instead of the plug being outside I’m running it into the wall to a plug nearby in garage
Definitely, did that for my garage. It’s in another video that I made.
@@Pogi_Konjo I’ll check it out
This is how I wired my flood light with no junction box. Previous owner had a battery camera but hammer drilled through the garage door to plug inside the ceiling receptacle. So all I did is what you exactly did here and cut an extension cord. Works like a charm. Everyone screaming code violations when a plug in camera works the same way lol😂….if the people in India ain’t burn their houses down with transformers low to the ground even a toddler can touch, I think we okay man with our wiring lol 😂
I like it a lot. I didn't know what to do, but you gave me the best idea. Does your ring get hit by the rain hard. should I put clauk everywhere water goes in. Just wonder because here it rain super hard.
Sir I have a small doubt in a camera there three wires, which one is phase and which one is neutral, can u describe in a colour
What is the name of that round disc and where can I buy it? Great video BTW.
I’m not it came with the camera. If I had to guess maybe some kind of light mount.
What is the drill bit that you used to drill the hole in the junction box? Can I just use regular drill bit?
Just an ordinary titanium drill bit set from Walmart. You could pick up some from your local hardware store.
A bad guy can just unplug it though, correct? Probably best to run the cable through PVC or metal conduit to protect it from the sun. At the end of the day it works.
Plug runs into a receptacle with a lock box. Bad guys would need to get pass a few other cams, which are higher and wires aren’t exposed, before getting a chance to disrupt this cam. A conduit is a good idea, although I’ll have to wait until it gets warmer outside.
That's horrible workmanship. And why even put a camera if a intruder can just unable it be disconnecting the power cord?🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
Can you come mount mines
