Led Zeppelin | Black Dog | Chris Allan drum cover

- This is the first Led Zeppelin song I ever heard, I think I was 8 or 9. The groove and riffs are infectious, so simple yet musically demanding. Great fun to play. And what drummer doesn't like playing a bit of Bonzo.
All the rights to this song belong to the owners.
I am available now for studio and live sessions.

This song just makes you want to hit the drums as hard as possible
Thats the goal! Thats how this is supposed be played- hit em hard as possible but remain spot on !
Nice work, remember playing this live at gigs and struggling to hold it back . Not an easy song to play, don't we luv Bonzo
It’s a bitch ain’t it
This is the hardest Bonzo drum part I ever learned except Four Sticks.
The challenge I had was swinging the 'oh yeah, oh yeah' chorus. I've
been playing the tune since 1985 and still can't swing it like Bonham.
You execute that bit quite well, Chris. As Bonzo himself would say:
"Fookin' great."
Yeah its a tough one for sure! Thanks for watching!
This version doesnt have that chorus... I learned the full song with the chorus and i play Open so the riffs were pretty easy to reach for me while retaining the beat on the hi hat/ride
Try Achilles last stand 😁😁
@Dylan Lockhead do you think when the levee breaks its hard?
sorry to be off topic but does someone know a way to log back into an Instagram account?
I somehow forgot my password. I love any assistance you can offer me
Wow! Amazing Sound! I really love your drums sound! Great Job!

Absolutely Brilliant Chris ! 🥁👏👍
Wow! You made and did it as if it were easy to do this hard Bonzo drum part. Excellently done, Chris
Your cymbals are awesome...they gracefully splash away
Smooth! Love the "tight but loose" vibe!
paiste 2002 classic

Solid and your kit sounds perfect!
Great job mate. I still don't know how to count the riff in after the verses though! Well
done!

Fucking Awesome . Excellent . I loved this
Happy new year
Nice snare sound!
Glad you like it!
Super .
Hi Chris. Excellent Job. I love the sound of your cymbals. All of them. I'm looking at some paiste cymbals. Can you tell me which ones your using in this video specifically? I'd really appreciate it ! Thanks
Gary Dilbeck
Hi Gary, thanks for the kind words.
Paiste are just incredible!
Here I am playing all 2002 series.
L-R is:
15” Sound edge hats
18” crash
22” prototype medium ride
20” medium crash
The Paiste website has very good and reliable sound clips so you can compare cymbals but I think every Paiste cymbal will work with any other!
I hope your set up brings you a lot of inspiration
All the best
Thanks So Much ! I appreciate your time. I'll keep watching and I'll check into those cymbals. =)
He’s changed it
yas
Ficou excelente !
Por favor, o amigo podetia dizer o modelo da caixa ( Snare Drum ).
Obrigado.
Cool 🤵
Nice wash up
Awesome! Great job! 👍👍👍
Thank you! 👍
UA-cam took down my Black Dog cover but I think I heard a few changes you made so it passes copyright. Nice drumming!
My bad I play the live versions ,nice job
❤️🥁❤️🏁🎶🎶🎶
Hi. You're the only drummer I've seen who's nailed the variations in pauses between the end of solo vocal and where the rest of the band come in. How do you count to this, or are you just feeling where this happens
GigVid thank you very much!
Its ALMOST a count of 8 beats give or take some looseness. You’ve got to feel it as much as possible while ignoring the vocal which isn’t in time with how you want to feel it. I hope it makes sense
Pages licks and bonahms rhythm . Only duo can come close to me is Alex and Eddie maybe Dime and vinnie as well
this piece is fast and slow at the same time. In other words you could dance fast or slow to it. Am I right to say this?
U rite
I love those cymbals. What are they?
Paiste 2002
15” Sound edge hats
18” & 20” medium crashes
22” medium ride
How the fuck is it possible to dislike this! 37 heroes didn't like...please give me more advices people!!! That's just really cool to have something to work on...Congrats Bro!
Awesome drum cover! Does anyone know how I can make a drum cover with no mics and no PC. I was wondering how I can listen to the music with headphones and put the music over it without using a computer. Thanks
Like asking how do i drive a car without using a car. You need mics in order to pick up what your playing sent to an audio interface and mixed with a DAW. Unless you have an electronic kit the you can just plug your music into the AUX input and send your drumming with the music to your camera/recorder from the monitor outputs
@@stevewittbrodt ok thanks. I knew that I probably wouldn't be able to do it without a pc and all that gear, do you know how I could do it on a budget?
@@chopper265 i got all my gear for at or around 500. depends on your budget. may i make some recommendations? first you will need a computer. something with at least 8GB of ram, i use the Lenovo ThinkPad T430. you can get good refurbished models off ebay. next you will need an audio interface. the Tascam US16x08 can be had pretty cheap at Guitar Center. and for the mics DRDK7-7pc mic set again sold at Guitar Center for 300 comes with everything you need to mic a kit, cables, mics, and stands. a good set of studio headphones will run about 20. you can get by without a set of monitors but down the road you will want to invest in some to get different options for playback. the last thing you will need is a DAW (digital audio workplace) there is many different ones you can download for free. i use Reaper and it does pretty good for editing and recording. let me know if you have any more questions. ill be happy to help
p.s. if you wanna hear how everything sounds check out some drum covers on my channel. im happy with all my gear. i have even used to to record other instruments for my band
@@stevewittbrodt thank you for the reply, very helpful!
I think Yoyoka is a Child Prodigy.. Do you think that too?
God damn it, I just can't. Shit!
Hello Chris, how are you?
Its performance on this battery cover is very good. Congratulations.
I'm also a drummer, but I'm already 52 years old, but I still like to play. I'm from Brazil. I prepared the video for the song "The Ocean" and tried to post it here on UA-cam but I was blocked all over the world ... And see that my channel is very small !! How did you make your video appear and not be blocked?
Hey! Good question! Firstly, this version of the audio has no drums on it, and I recorded the drums over the top. Also, every part of the song that doesnt have vocals is also a reproduced piece of music and not the original recording - so I think this helped me out. There is copyright on this video and the owners are getting revenue for the views and not myself also.
박완규덕에 들으러왓어요.ㅎ
♫♪♫♪ You obviously have no views cause you do it almost perfect and populi does not forgive success. great cover! ♫♪♫♪
Thank you!
Where did you find a drum lesson backing track for black dog?
Im sure it was here on youtube
What heads are those? Those look lovely!
The toms are Evans EC frosted, not sure on the snare might just be an Evans G2
Walter White oh thanks! Hey, how is the meth business?
Thanks Chris for these instructions to play this song !!! Best Regards .. Chris from www.dolmusic.de in Germany
Why does and what made the guitar sound different after the solo (> 3:07)?
Folke its just double tracked, with one of them playing a harmony. think its so that the whole song isnt just repeated exactly the same over and over
What size are the cymbals you’re using here? And are they regular Paiste 2002 or medium or power? They sound great!
This is a while ago, so I think I was using an 18” crash, 20” medium. The ride is a prototype 22” medium and the hats are 15” Sound edge. All 2002 series
@@chrisallandrums thanks for the reply. I was just curious.
sorry what drums are you playing in the video? I like how color and sounds
This kit was a Pearl Reference Pure series
@@chrisallandrums Thanks a lot for the answer
The snare I think was an aluminium Pearl Sensitone
Noice
😊🎶👍🏁
Thank you
......"dammit" !!
Whered you get the drumless track?
Pretty sure it was here on youtube
very well, could you give the confirmation of cymbals
S&C Ingeniería Estructural Sure! All Paiste 2002. from L to R is 15” SE hats, 18” medium crash, 22” medium prototype ride, 20” medium crash
Wheres the bottom end triplets?
