As a drummer I always hated playing covers. I've never had the patience to not only learn the part, but my biggest issue was trying to nail the original drummer's feel. Bonham is a god to me and I never wanted to show disrespect-so I always steered clear. Sure I had the skill to pull off something adequate, but in my heart I knew I was half-assing it. Having said all that I absolutely love what you've done here. You kicked so much ass on this!

I tend to "get into my feelings" too much and get too worked up and my timing can wander if I don't stay constantly focused on it. With this song, I generally do the wrong fills out of order, too. You seem to be gifted with certain intangibles that all great drummers have. I hope you enjoy what you do and I hope you continue to do it. Best wishes for great things.

Smart to learn reading so early... It will be a skill you carry your whole life... And you playing will pick up all kinds of swing which Bonham had over almost every other rock drummer....
@@jhersh100 it’s a Tama swing star. I don’t know if they make that model anymore but they’ve got other models that are good for beginners. So do other brands like Yamaha, Ludwig, and pearl. All have some beginner kits in the $400-$600 range.

Thanks Jamie! The drum kit in this video is just really old and kind of cheaper, and the tape helped to tame the tone of the drums.
