I was looking at having a hydraulic cylinder barrel I.D. laser cladded with 420 stainless as part of a rebuild.

How does the grain structure look like on the cladding? Does every pass make a seperate grain? If so can that be heat treated to make uniform grains?

Ideal for preparing repair and maintenance as a "Surfacing Weld" with corrasion resistance. Thanks for the update on your "Laser Cladding" operations.

You folks should be cladding the combustion chambers of engines not to mention clutch plates which could save consumer costs in the millions.
