What are you trying to do. Digging out that mud and spreading it on solid sandy soil. Is the digout going to be a pond and what is the muddy topsoil area going to be used for?
That’s a first for me seeing a scraper loaded out with an excavator. I guess youve got to use what you’ve got on the job to get ER done. Great video as usual.
It's a TS-14 w/ two 4-71's. It's a 2 stroke diesel & they were tested in many app- lications , since the late 1930's. If your running straight pipes it's gonna scream louder!! Just think, it could have been a model 353 T Wabco with twin 12V-71s, a real 'buzzin two dozen' !!
Is justin a smoker? i still do that same thing with my right hand, leaving my index finger off the stick, because its muscle memory from holding a cig lmao
Wow feels good to see someone operating a 200C lc deere trackhoe. Not because it’s a good machine but because that’s the first trackhoe I ever operated
awesome video, thanks for sharing. I ran TS14 and TS18 up here in Alberta Canada. Its always good to hear those Detroit Engines! TS14 were a little slow compared to the TS18, but they would hold any slope and run all day long. I've watched many of your videos and think for a brief come back out of retirement.. I'd love to run another TS14 or TS18 for the summer. Thanks again for posting Terex videos and I certainly hope to see many more!
Seems to me this is an affordable haul truck that doubles as a scraper. For a company that can't afford both, great idea. Bet it costs less than the Volvo off road dump truck Chris uses. Good job guys! Love taking kids to work, that boy is gonna remember those Detroits forever for sure!
Travis Roach drive operate what's the difference I'm from the UK and we don't use the term operate as much as you infact alot of jobs are advertised as 360 excavator driver. We don't say I ran a d6 we say I've driven a d6. So to recap i like OPERATING Hitachi diggers(that's another one you haven't heard look it up) and have done so for many years and even some with a steering wheel there called a rubber duck you can look that up too 😜
Yes, she still has it, but not for lack of maintenance. Nice to see old iron still going. I despise seeing anything left to rust away. Use it or sell it to someone who will. Tip of the hat to the guys who keep history alive.
As much as I love the scream of a Detroit in old construction equipment, it did nothing for the splitting headache I've had from coughing. Justin you need to graduate to a bigger bucket. That is just counter productive. Great video.
Hello guys what size of pond are you digging out plus what is it for and is it going to be deep ..by the looks off it the pond is going to be pretty big . One last question would it be better with a dumper to move more dirt instead of having the excavator doing nothing when the other machine is away to tip ? Great video ! lol i had written as i was watching it before the end with the truck !
Do you line the pond with bentonite when your done, or is the soil dense enough to retain water? Thanks for the effort you put in your videos I really enjoy them.
Interesting to see you guys in the southeast digging ponds and having no problem with county authorities saying -----'' You don't own that water we do''!!! how f3cking ironic
That hole is big enough to put that detroit in and leave it there. He does need a bucket and the funny thing is if he has been digging with that one for a week he has already paid for one...
Who me? Yeah I like Chatterpillar for truck engines (pre-2003). I like Caterpillar, Hitachi, Komatsu, pretty much anything with an engine that isn't screaming bloody murder in my ear all day.
That glorious old dog of a Terex, from the 1970's era. Still on the job, and purring ( roaring, actually with those 2 GM Diesel engines. ) under the load of mud. I can't quite recall the model , is it a TS-18 , do you know Chris? I know it has an 8V71 in the front and a 6V -71 or 6-71 rear, and the 18 meant it had a capacity of 18 cu. yds. Which brings me to that Deere, it works well, but does Justin do mostly ditch work with that bucket?
Thanks for the information,... and yes there's a helluva difference between the two, but those 4-71's are still running clean, by the looks of things. So 20 yards heaped,...that's about the way it looks it was being loaded. Good stuff.
We live in Minnesota and I’m really confused by all the ponds you build down there? In the county we live in there are 1367 lakes that are over twenty acres. That doesn’t count the swampy lakes that I love. I’m confused do you build lakes for farming or just landscaping. Or is it for flood control? You do good work keep having fun.
all the ones in the country are for irrigation, some are just for looks and private fishing holes. All the ones in the city are building for stormwater control ( prevent flooding)
Andrew H In northern Minnesota it gets so cold that we use ground water heat pumps for heating and cooling. But normally most of us don’t cool in summer because we enjoy the few times during the year we have hot weather. The truth is my body is not built for over sixty five degrees. I’ve been known to wear shorts to town in the winter to purchase milk. In fact we drive three or four months a year across the lake ice. We live on a good size lake and the ice is our short cut to town. From our home to the boat landing it’s almost a mile. I let my neighbor be the first across the lake to make sure it is safe. Then everyone on the point of land drives across. This week the lake froze over for two days and then today it opened backup. When it opened in front of our house sixty or so swans landed. I tossed out some grain for them and six deer came down the hill to eat it. They didn’t seem to care when I told them the grain was for the swans.
You can still use lake/pond/river water for a heat pump even if the surface is frozen as long as the intake is deep enough to not freeze up. If you get yearly frozen lakes thick enough to drive on check what rules are for harvesting ice for summer use as you can make a radiant slab to set the ice on and get free cooling for the house or just a cold room for storing food without the need of power. Finding a frozen lake here in Arizona is a real challenge but I do get to wear shorts year round as I'm so used to the climate near D.C. that out here it is warm even the few times it drops below freezing overnight as the humidity is insanely low.
Andrew H I grew up near a lake in town called ice lake there was a building insulated with sawdust next to the lake. During the winter ice was collected and used for ice boxes all summer. I knew of a few people who used ice storage root cellar type building to keep their ice frozen all summer. For fun we sat in these on very hot days as children. I agree that there is a place for gathering ice from lake even today. I use my chainsaw to cut deep into the ice for spear house. Cut A two by three foot hole and slide the house over the opening. There is nothing -30 outside and +70 inside while fishing. Very fond memories of doing this. Now days people spend 20000 for custom built fish houses with holes all over the place to fish from. You can watch the game from your tv while cooking the fish in the kitchen. When your tired just curl up on the bed next to the hole. Lol I’m sure people down south are shaking their heads. I remember as a teenager getting two pipeline welders fellows who drove up from Texas get their truck started when it was -30 plus high wind. It took me an hour or so to get them going while these two bought warmer jackets. When they got back we had to put number one diesel in the tank because their diesel fuel was jelling from the cold. They gave me a look of pity and then gave me a huge tip and headed back to Texas. I had to laugh at those two fellows because we were in a warming spell they should have been there a couple of days before. They never got to their worksite in the middle of a frozen bog were pipeline could only be placed in the dead of winter. In the summer all the heavy equipment would sink into the bog right next to the crude oil pipeline.
From what I could tell from other people on your Instagram it hadn't been fixed yet. I hope she's working at full capacity soon because its a beautiful machine. I know some people hated on the paint job, but i thought it looked pretty good.
Nice job. Like when y’all work together. He always sounds so happy with whatever
Love the sound of the Detroits. Operated many machines on the railway with them here in Toronto area.
Yes...need a BIGGER scoop...half the load time...but getting it done...
So exactly how many yards of dirt does the engine cover hold?
Justin moving mud by the tea spoon
Ole mr justins got his hands full.Always a trip to see justin in your vids 18.Thanks
You are so lucky over there in the states, here in Norway we are digging almost purely in big stones
You could use a large front loader I think that will help you.
Have to love those old screaming Jimmy's
Small bucket equals more practice.😀
Justin's terex sounds like it's going to blow up lol
I do like Justin, my kind of operator. Thanks for the laugh mate!
Bucket by Tonka
Tonka would be an improvement that one looks like it was build by hot wheels
You need to get with justin and do a react video of him reading these comments of everyone roasting his ass 😂
You need a bigger bucket lol
at least it is somewhat faster
No need for back up alarm on that old screemer....
Yea terex diesel power
Your buddy just posted a video of how to lite a fire the right way. (Jpd).
I wonder what he would say about loading a scraper with an excavator LOL
A raggedy detroit almost makes enough power to move itself. Almost.
Why in the hell do you have that big of a Bucket on that? The thing can barely run it🤣 i think you need to downsize
What are you trying to do. Digging out that mud and spreading it on solid sandy soil. Is the digout going to be a pond and what is the muddy topsoil area going to be used for?
yeah digging a pond out and spreading it on the fields
You need a little bit bigger bucket just a little joke
That’s a first for me seeing a scraper loaded out with an excavator. I guess youve got to use what you’ve got on the job to get ER done. Great video as usual.

Looking good Justin! Don’t let Chris razz you too much!
Hiya, I was just thinking " they need a bigger bu, , , then you said "Don't nobody tell me I need a bigger bucket"
Uncanny !🙃
Chris is Justin a family member or a good friend who runs his own excavating business? Great videos keep em coming!
Sounds like it should be breaking the sound barrier. Just crawling along. Love it!
Justin's laugh is golden lmao
Is justin a smoker? i still do that same thing with my right hand, leaving my index finger off the stick, because its muscle memory from holding a cig lmao
Man that thing is load. I think I would wear hearing protection on that thing.
Iv had these unstable pans turn over on my jobs before.thsts a sight!
That green diesel converter!
Wow feels good to see someone operating a 200C lc deere trackhoe. Not because it’s a good machine but because that’s the first trackhoe I ever operated
Looks like he took your advice about dumping dirt on the engine compartment 😳😂😂😂
That's not a pond, it's a lake
Ah the screaming green machine, I've had my days on those before, I think sometimes they are better than the new cats.
That couldn't have been Justins equipment, there where no door flopping in the breeze!!!
awesome video, thanks for sharing. I ran TS14 and TS18 up here in Alberta Canada. Its always good to hear those Detroit Engines! TS14 were a little slow compared to the TS18, but they would hold any slope and run all day long.

Scraper looks like it holds more than a haul truck
I like the scraper as a haul truck. I bet it saves some dozer blade time as well because it does quite a bit of spreading itself.
It ain't the size of ya bucket ...it's how deep you can dig! Folks with big buckets ...nevermind !!
You want your Volvo with a bigger bucket to do that job Chris 😂😂🇬🇧
1 cubic foot at a time.
Seems to me this is an affordable haul truck that doubles as a scraper. For a company that can't afford both, great idea. Bet it costs less than the Volvo off road dump truck Chris uses. Good job guys! Love taking kids to work, that boy is gonna remember those Detroits forever for sure!
He's revving the crap out of that dump truck thing.
Hard to beat the hitachi hiding in Deere colours 💪💪💪💪
John White yeah but with a real Made in the USA Diesel
Until you compare one to a komatsu or link belt lol
John White I love Hitachi learnt to drive on them hate going on anything else
jdig1984 learned to drive!!?? Lmfao no steering wheel how can you drive it. Apparently you aren't a operator then
Travis Roach drive operate what's the difference I'm from the UK and we don't use the term operate as much as you infact alot of jobs are advertised as 360 excavator driver. We don't say I ran a d6 we say I've driven a d6. Very nice again Chris, working with Justin, I like the old machine with two Detroit engines 😲😲😲😲😲
That name tag upgrade probably ain't all it's cracked up to be. I think that's a quarter teaspoon. Maybe that's a high capacity teaspoon!
That is a good video, great camera and editing work!
....13
That old pan still has what it takes, great video
Detroit diesel. Screamin demon
Can you do a video showing you wrist action compared the bucket movement?
Got to love the old Detroit! Screaming like a banchee, barely moving!!
That thing will barely get out of it's own way
Do I hear some glorious screaming Detroit Diesel power ? Awesome old machine that still has it, thanks for a great video...
Yes, she still has it, but not for lack of maintenance. Nice to see old iron still going. I despise seeing anything left to rust away. Use it or sell it to someone who will. Tip of the hat to the guys who keep history alive.
Yes sir we like to take care of our equipment. You take good care of what puts food on the table
I was going to say that.........but you beat me by at least 3 days.... ^_^
A commercial for Goody's headache powder
Never seen it done that way. Nice.
As much as I love the scream of a Detroit in old construction equipment, it did nothing for the splitting headache I've had from coughing. Justin you need to graduate to a bigger bucket. That is just counter productive. Great video.
That terex is one helluva 2 great machines
That haul truck looks an awful lot like a scraper
Did you loan Justine the bucket off the 140
Hello guys what size of pond are you digging out plus what is it for and is it going to be deep ..by the looks off it the pond is going to be pretty big .
One last question would it be better with a dumper to move more dirt instead of having the excavator doing nothing when the other machine is away to tip ? Great video !
lol i had written as i was watching it before the end with the truck !
That's going to be a nice size pond.
Old Terex pans were the business
Great video Chris thanks for sharing
Do you line the pond with bentonite when your done, or is the soil dense enough to retain water?
Thanks for the effort you put in your videos I really enjoy them.
thanks for the entertainment
Pretty neat,, I've see that done even in dry hard soil, saves not having something to spread it out on other end.
you need a bigger bucket good video
Love the old machines, got a lot of dirt to move.
Go green weenie, Go!!😀
You to need a bigger bucket
Damn Justin can you get a smaller ditching bucket!!!!
Hey chris isn’t that blue clay good for keeping water in Linda Like a natural bentonite
there's a lot of gold in that dirt... or in moving the dirt.
Chris, Does Justin own that company? What do they own other then the scraper and excavator?
Interesting to see you guys in the southeast digging ponds and having no problem with county authorities saying -----'' You don't own that water we do''!!! how f3cking ironic
Jeff Shadwick we just just tell them to get there butt off our PRIVATE PROPERTY.
Terex Detroit. Yuck
Yeah, not as sexy as some of the big-name brands, but I give the guy the nod for keeping the old iron away from the cutting torch :)
That hole is big enough to put that detroit in and leave it there. He does need a bucket and the funny thing is if he has been digging with that one for a week he has already paid for one...
What do you like a Yellow belly Cat
Who me? Yeah I like Chatterpillar for truck engines (pre-2003). I like Caterpillar, Hitachi, Komatsu, pretty much anything with an engine that isn't screaming bloody murder in my ear all day.
No not you the guy who said yuck
Who else turned their volume way down?
Justin needs a bigger bucket.
Is that Justin’s excavator?
Little bucket for a little man!
Never seen a 2 passenger scraper
JD pattern is more common sense .,
That's a teaspoon bucket there.
You need a Deere 470G or something bigger my Lord... Lol
You need a bigger bucket!
That glorious old dog of a Terex, from the 1970's era. Still on the job, and purring ( roaring, actually with those 2 GM Diesel engines. ) under the load of mud.

TS14. I dont think he does much ditching but wont get a bigger bucket lol
TS14B 2 471's. 20 yds heaped. Says the man behind the wheel
Thanks, and regarding Justin and the small bucket, I guess he like all those cycle times. Great video though.
Thanks for the information,... and yes there's a helluva difference between the two, but those 4-71's are still running clean, by the looks of things.
So 20 yards heaped,...that's about the way it looks it was being loaded.
Good stuff.
Old iron scream Detroit scearm.
2 stroke diesel in the terex?
Oh man that laugh
Fuck yea an 18 minute video!!!
I was wondering how long it would take you to post it
haha i have more!
Let's see it

Also can be for heating/cooling a structure using a water source heat pump.

Deere pattern is best!
you dont need a bigger bucket cause you've already bought it. the only problem is that it's on a machine that isn't getting used lol
hey now I do have a job its going to soon lol
From what I could tell from other people on your Instagram it hadn't been fixed yet. I hope she's working at full capacity soon because its a beautiful machine. I know some people hated on the paint job, but i thought it looked pretty good.
800th like. Nice!
I think Terex put two lawn mover engines in that thing as a joke... no one will ever buy that if it's that under powered and loud...
