We are always told to pull Rhubarb so the bottom of the stem doesn't go rotten and destroy the crown Taylor, mine is established but still get many seed heads. ♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.
Happy Saturday Ms. Michigan Garden Gal I wanted to grow Rhubarb but it's not well adapted to Florida. region ... ☺️ It's always cool learning Thanks for the information about the flower
Dan Permaculture Food Forest Thanks for watching! That is interesting. I didn’t know you couldn’t grow it there, or at least it doesn’t grow well there. I know what you mean though. I still watch your videos over things I can’t grow here, but I still love learning! 😂💜🌱
Candy's Garden right? Lol it actually stays looking like that just a larger version of it if you continue to let it grow. Looks like the head of it gets darker pink over time. Pretty cool! If I didn’t like rhubarb I would have definitely let it do it’s thing!
You learn something new everyday! Lol. That’s so interesting. Could you grow it in a container in a shady area possibly? Mine does great in this shady spot.
It's good you looked it up Taylor, I know you can propagate rhubarb from seed, but it's easier to split the root if it get too large and multiply the plant that way. I wonder if that flower stem is edible? All the best Steve
steve's growing space since I just planted this last year I do plan on splitting it when it gets too big. I’d love to have more then one plant 😊. I actually thought the same thing, but what I researched said that the flower stem is not edible and it’s better to toss it and or use the seeds. Pretty interesting! Thanks for watching🧡🤗🌱
@@MichiganGardenGal Then add it to the compost pile, rhubarb is full of calcium and potassium and of course magnesium. All great additions to compost. Have a great week
@@MichiganGardenGal yep...same here. Btw, did you see my shout-out in my coyote urine video? (I've moved it to a new channel: ua-cam.com/video/TfT9a9Bz_C8/v-deo.html)
Micky Bell-Roberts sane here! I cut it up and freeze it so we always have it. 😊 I swear rhubarb is one of the easiest plants to grow with little effort. Thanks for watching!
I don’t grow rubarb, but I know they who do, just pull out the flower stem by hand as you do when you harvest the rubarb stems. Good luck with your rubarb plants, Taylor. Have a nice Sunday. Take care.
Going Green Mom No. Apparently they start once the plants matures 2 to 3 years in. It’ll send up seed heads every year. This was from my research though.

Good to know! Even since this video I’ve had two more seed pods come up. I cut those off too.
@@MichiganGardenGal you are not doing anything wrong , mine is doing the same. Take care my friend.
Your garden looks amazing!

That was cool to see those things. I would probably be one of those people to allow it to flower just to see the flower😏😊 GREAT share!!😊😊

@@MichiganGardenGal can you eat the flower?
your rhubarb looks wonderful.
It’s so pretty! Funny how things surprise you in the garden!! Rhubarb-something that can’t be grown here (on the surface of the sun!). Gorgeous plant.

Weird! But, yeah we've had those...and cut them off!
Don Joyce I’m glad I looked it up or else I would have just let it go!

No I did not! Thanks for sharing. I’m gonna check it out 🤗🧡
I should try and grow Rhubarb. Absolutely love to eat it. It has been a long time since we had Rhubarb pie.🤪

I don't think I've ever seen one flower. And I dont think the people around me that have it deal with that. Does it stop after a year or two?
