Probably because Kaiba acknowledges that Joey is only a competent duelist out of sheer dumb luck and having boss monsters from his Battle City wins that don't synergize well with his warriors and red eyes black dragon. However he did eventually trim his deck of boss monsters, keeping Jinzo, Gilfred the Lightning, Flame Swordsman, and Red Eyes Black Dragon as his mains. So, at the very least Kaiba does see Joey as competent, but still lacking in skills, only winning through luck and circumstances.
I love how at 12:07 he brought up the Egyption legend, that basicly tells people who remember the anime would know he's talking about Kisara XD go Kaiba
I know but the idea of taking an old school deck with a few new cards and putting it up against a new school deck like wind ups is just GENIUS! Also, you gotta love that commentary.
I've seen footage of Eric Stuart voicing many of these lives. He must get paid well to show up; or he's just possessively into his role. But I'm not complaining. For someone interested in live theater, it is delightful indulgence. It's just a shame there isn't more footage of the VAs over the card players, as body-language chemistry on film to match to the voices totally transforms the spectator experience imo.
Love how Pegasus is the skeptic and Kaiba the storyteller for Maiden with eyes of Blue (Who is clearly a dead ringer for Kisara- even more so than the anime's BEWD lore), a complete role-reversal for both characters.
The dialog at the beginning is hilarious. "Skillfully constructed decks" HA! Like anyone there had a deck they made themselves rather then look up the list online.
It had to originate somewhere, though it's easy these days considering any cards that work well together are just shoved into one archetype so you already know. I like to stay up to date on yugioh these days, but I'll always prefer the older cards.
To be fair on that one, Negate Attack might as well be put on Hero Shield. It's somewhat inaccurate. It doesn't just negate an attack, it ends the battle phase.
@@mattwo7 Yes, I know that. But the name IS actually misleading. It doesn't just negate AN attack. It ends the battle phase. Whilst Hero Barrier does exactly that. Negates an attack.
Darrens supposed to be giving the anime commands with the XYZ’s like I overlay my levels to build/rebuild the overlay network and XYZ summon # ank (name of the monster)
That was great two but the idea of putting kaiba's classic deck with new support against a new school deck like wind ups with that commentary is just pure genius.
I like how back then, they used to script the duel so that the anime-accurate decks could beat the meta deck somewhat convincingly. These days, decks are so powerful that it would be impossible to sell the illusion.
***** Make that a three-way with Kaiba, and I'll pay for it. Three of Yugioh's biggest jerks would make for Grade-A entertainment, with all the insults going back and forth.
+TheNebulaXYZ Are you kidding ? Yugi nearly escaped defeat thanks by Atem against Jaden, Kaiba would certainely lose against Jaden. Remember the last episode of GX and you'll know you're wrong. Yusei isn't that skilled, without his synchros, he is powerless, Jaden on the contrary has a ton of strategies and means with every card of his own.
***** You're such a pathetic and ignorant kid. Atem REALLY SAVED Yugi cuz that little moron wasn't able to summon and control Slifer the sky dragon cuz only the chosen ones can and he's not one of them. Dartz sure count, stop with your silly excuses, a true duellist can beat any deck and Kaiba is far to be either a brillant strategist or a true duellist, his only strategy is to crush the opponent with powerful monsters or sometimes, crushing his deck, very predictible and primal. Yako Tenma also beat Kaiba despite this one not supposely being as good as his twin brother Gekko at this point, so you see that Kaiba is far to be the secondth best duelist, especially when remembering he almost lost to Zorc (you make me laugh by still calling him Yami Bakura after all these years) and if you saw all Jaden's duels prior to the final one, you'll see other duelists that he could never have defeated like Sartorius and Nightshroud (not Atticus) also, Yami Marik would have easily defeated him, knowing the dumb playing of Kaiba, attacking recklessly and without paying attention to his opponent's set cards, it would have been a close one. Jaden is the secondth best duelist in the world, that you like it or not, he can performs things than Kaiba never could like taking advantage of a bad hand for example. Atem is the number one, despite his lost against Yugi cuz the writters made him volontary do a noobish mistake so that he loses with the 3 egyptian gods, wich in the anime was impossible. Are you serious about your point about Kaibaman furthermore ? Kid, this duel took place in the beginning of GX, when Jaden didn't even reach half of his latter potential, also, note than the real Kaiba doesn't have De-Fusion in his deck.
After "Wind-Up Zenmaines" applies its effect that detaches Xyz Materials instead when it would be destroyed, if it's not face-up before the End Phase, the effect that destroys cards on the field does not activate - yugioh wiki
Apparently, it is, it's just not used. Anime: Give a command to one of your opponent's monsters on the field with the Enemy Controller. ●1000 Life + Up, Left, Down, Right, A = Explode ●1000 Life + Left, Right, A, B = Sacrifice
I thought at the end when Kaiba used CED and Pegasus claimed he couldn't use the effect of the castle, Kaiba was going to say "SCREW THE RULES I HAVE MONEY!"
That's what's exciting about the relationship Pegasus & Seto have. They're radical opposites in terms of personality and gaming ethos as well as distinctive strengths/weaknesses, but overall their general skill levels are fairly even. They know each other so well that they can practically predict the other's moves, but their rivalry/friendship keeps them locked in battle. Plus there's something archetypically appealing about a Genius Original Creator (Pegasus) battling a Perfect Technical Master (Seto). They clearly love playing off and against each other as both actors and characters, and that makes excellent storytelling. I will always prefer to watch Seto duel Pegasus over any of the other characters, even Atem/Yami.
Next time lets have more Toonship flirting! Pegasus adores Seto usually takes every advantage to make him blush or skip a beat by teasing or compliments, but strangely didn't here; in fact Pegasus was quite rude and condescending toward Seto, very out of character... And why didn't anyone think to fetch Darren the essential Pegs prop i.e. a glass of fine red wine?
"I do not think any of you can beat Joey Wheeler." Not sure if Joey can take that as a compliant or an insult.
Knowing Kaiba, an insult.
Well said @@MasterJunior93
This makes me wish this was a legit episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! >.>
+SowndHoundShinies That's why I love these, it's like getting new episodes all these years later. :)
Agree
Pretty awesome how Kaiba used Blue Eyes to defeat Pegasus! And the comedy was pretty entertaining as well! XD
I love how at 12:07 he brought up the Egyption legend, that basicly tells people who remember the anime would know he's talking about Kisara XD go Kaiba
10:40 Can't believe Kaiba actually watched the toon commercials with 'Trix are for kids' reference
If any of you don't remember, Ancient Lamp is treated as a continuous trap card in the show.
I know but the idea of taking an old school deck with a few new cards and putting it up against a new school deck like wind ups is just GENIUS! Also, you gotta love that commentary.

I think it's the latter. Or could be both.
Usually the best voice actors really enjoy their craft and put forth that extra love and effort.
I enjoy Pegasus's eloquent personality and Kaiba's sarcastic personality xD
Love how Pegasus is the skeptic and Kaiba the storyteller for Maiden with eyes of Blue (Who is clearly a dead ringer for Kisara- even more so than the anime's BEWD lore), a complete role-reversal for both characters.
This matchup was too legit to quit! I laughed at the feeding frenzy joke! Pegasus vs Kaiba! That was frigging epic! That was too cool!
I just LOVE how Kaiba trash talks about everybody and then kicks their ass.
The dialog at the beginning is hilarious. "Skillfully constructed decks" HA! Like anyone there had a deck they made themselves rather then look up the list online.
Yup
0:11 "Skillfully constructed decks"... yeeeah, riiight. xD
7:23 Still not the Konami code, come on Eric! You KNOW who made this game.
Wrong. It’s Enemy Controller’s anime effect. For Scripted Duels, anime effects are used.
Also the konami code is banned, because it gives the duelist unlimited cards.
Hmm, somehow i never get tired of this duel no matter how many times i'm watching it :D
Same. Along with his and Yugi's from 2016.
Jaysus, these two have so many reversals, this has got to be the biggest chain possible.
It had to originate somewhere, though it's easy these days considering any cards that work well together are just shoved into one archetype so you already know. I like to stay up to date on yugioh these days, but I'll always prefer the older cards.
27:48 "Are you... explaining negate attack to me?"
To be fair on that one, Negate Attack might as well be put on Hero Shield. It's somewhat inaccurate. It doesn't just negate an attack, it ends the battle phase.
Hero Barrier*
What about explaining pot of greed?
@@kadindarklord It's a YTAS reference...
@@mattwo7 Yes, I know that. But the name IS actually misleading. It doesn't just negate AN attack. It ends the battle phase. Whilst Hero Barrier does exactly that. Negates an attack.
For those who don't understand the jokes, Kaiba used well-known banned cards during the entire duel like cyber-jar and pot of greed.
Daniel Norton Well, he does have money, and he does like to screw rules, and destiny...
+Daniel Norton pot of greed is actually banned now? Wow XD I always use it on my duels.
I was sooooo happy to have been there!

Thank so much for uploading this.

25:40 and here we can see the scenario where YuGiOh becomes Magic the Gathering, with the endless countering
Jaden Yuuki is forever alone and forgotten
Hey ppl!! Remember they are playing by the anime rules; as many of you know some card effects are modified in the anime
Pegasus is so sarcastic... in a good way
I like how back then, they used to script the duel so that the anime-accurate decks could beat the meta deck somewhat convincingly. These days, decks are so powerful that it would be impossible to sell the illusion.
That was a Great Video. I also have a Deck that can Beat Kaiba's Deck. If only I could have The chance to Duel against Seto Kaiba.
I was in this event and I loved it so much!!
Will we be getting those blue eyes in the structure deck?
Wow, how did I only just now get that...? Hitotsu-Me... 一つ目... One Eye... I'm a dumbass...
i was there live it was so much fun and both of the guys where so cool!
i need more friends that are into yu-gi-oh as i am and i also need someone to tell me where these events are at
Does anyone have a deck list of the cards Kaiba used.
Someone needs to animate this!
they should have zane vs seto kaiba or something
they need to do kaiba vs kite of mizar
Yeah that i need to see
Were can I get this new blue eyes deck from?
26:08 Oh no! Mirror Force, that's Yugi's favorite trap card.
I wanna see Kaiba vs. Jaden. Jaden may have lost to Kaibaman, but with the Neos Cards and Yubel, I doubt that'd happen again.
***** How about Yusei?
Kaiba would destroy him. Kaiba vs Hell Kaiser is the only duel I'd want to see.
***** Make that a three-way with Kaiba, and I'll pay for it. Three of Yugioh's biggest jerks would make for Grade-A entertainment, with all the insults going back and forth.

"I activate Enemy Controller... By giving up 1000 Life Points, I destroy your monster."
Pardon? That's not the official or anime effect..!
Apparently, it is, it's just not used.
Anime:
Give a command to one of your opponent's monsters on the field with the Enemy Controller.
●1000 Life + Up, Left, Down, Right, A = Explode
●1000 Life + Left, Right, A, B = Sacrifice
The Up Left Down Right A combination for enemy controller is from the anime but it could be a hidden combination
Any store that sells yugioh cards after it releases on September 13.
They have done stuff like this before. IF you liked it look up Yugi vs the guy from 5ds
Pegasus' VA looks like my English teacher. Maybe he is....
I think the role play lack of "what!?, impossible..!," phrases but pretty funny and good overall
I thought at the end when Kaiba used CED and Pegasus claimed he couldn't use the effect of the castle, Kaiba was going to say "SCREW THE RULES I HAVE MONEY!"
Easily the best freaking thing they have done at a tourney.
Right? Wish they did this exact match-up as yearly tradition. The chemistry is so good.
Darnit Pegasus. Weren’t wind ups the weakest of those decks?
14:50-14:52, What just happened? Did Pegasus really lose his focus?
All I heard through that duel was "...What?"
no one the the final matches? ):
We need more of these glorious glorified fan fiction readings.
Kaiba hella cSIMONHEated. Maiden negates the attack boost from the trap card in order to bring out the Blue Eyes
is that pegasus?
this was pretty cool
This is so cool!!!
I wish I had money to fly to Chicago
I like how a lot of these scripted duels begin from small arguments and then they smack the hell out of each other 5 minutes later.
that was a every close one it was any ones game right to the end

Did Brake compete? I haven't heard shit about him topping
wait wtf. can Jins Lamp be in the trap zone?
In the anime Ancient Lamp is a Continuous Trap Card :)
Maiden with Blue*gah* Eyes of Blue!
I wanna see jaden vs kaiba because i think with neos jaden can actually defeat kaiba since he just otk yugi in the anime
yugi beat jaden
What seto needed was a five headed dragon
I thought u did not believe in magic kabia
this duel was epic
Get'em Kaiba, haha!
I wish Maximillion Pegasus won.
so.....are they hinting at chaos dragon to 1 lol
man i wish i had cards good enough to compete and place high... curse you poverty!!!
I was loling sooo hard with that miss the timing jab...
that pegasus voice
oooOOOOOOoooh
CED sends he doesn't destroy.
Who?
He summoned wind up magician in defense mode lols pegasus is boss
LOL even a once "Tier 1" deck can't even beat Kaiba! TROLLOLOLOLOL!!!

HUH there are two Pegasuses!!!!!
30:53 Oh Noooooo
Awsum duel, take note, Kaiba is 20
kaiba's talking about is his girl friend kisara
*SREW THE RULES I HAVE MONEY*
So awesme
I was by that fight
Where's jaden? He's the best
Dat Mirror Force trololololol
Lmao sm1 called a judge when he played graceful
NICE
poop
Nice
Awww shit blue eyes white dragon
This was hilarious
5:48 Classic Seto, always screwing the rules because he has money.
mattwo7 Wrong. It’s Ancient Lamp’s anime effect. In the anime, Ancient Lamp is a Trap Card so it is treated as such.
kaiba and yugi and all characters will lose in duel vs most everyone
Ofir Shapan I mean.... they do play by their own rules that superseded any rule that works
"Decks best combos"
Didn't go for shock master
yeaa kiba
great duel but misplay with Tiras being destroyed lulz
