Palmer just turned up in a Euros final, he turned up in a poor Chelsea side last season. This guy is not only a top technically gifted pure footballer but he has an elite mentality which we saw in the Euros.

I don't think Palmers all round game is better than Foden's yet but if he continues with his current trajectory then it won't be too long. I'd say he defo has a higher ceiling.
Fodens record at the Euros, 7 starts, 0 goals, 0 assists. Palmer, 0 starts, 1 goal, 1 assist, one penalty and one second assist and he barely played 40 minutes. The Stats don't lie.

I don't think he needs to match or outdo last year stats for it to be another successful season for him. If he manages around 15 goals n 5-10 assists then he dispells any notion of one hit wonder imo.

The whole team needs to improve past this offensively boring keepball nonsense and getting countered phase that's been stinking the place up since the wheels fell off for Tuchel. The base of midfield needs to improve tenfold instead of being protected by Gallagher ahead of them. The medical team needs to be... improved? Or hired? Is there even a team? A first team quality goalkeeper is a must. Getting Chilwell and James fit is a must. Not selling off academy performers so they can overspend on random foreign kids who'll likely never become homegrown is a must. There's only so much Palmer can do. Hopefully getting Nkunku fit means Palmer won't have to resort to taking speculative long shots (not converting very well but scoring through volume) and he can focus on creating, as Chelsea has struggled to replace Hudson-Odoi and Mount in terms of creation from wider attacking areas. The likes of Sterling, Madueke and Mudryk have to improve massively, and Jackson needs to remember how to shoot because I'd rather Lukaku was in there right now.

Two days in football is a long time, Kevin de Bruyne is off to the middle east (rumour) and Palmer is a very similar player, but I think he is better. Foden is good but he is not a number 10, he is an excellent winger. Palmer is an unbelievable passer of the ball, Foden is a receiver. Palmer is a cross between Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne and a lot of Lampard thrown in. I admit I am a Chelsea fan and we have been lucky to have him. However with KDB's injuries over the last two seasons he is a perfect fit as a replacement with Lampard goal levels for City It makes no sense to me why he would be let him go, I suspect it was ego rather than logic that made the decision or it may have been a financial decision with the issues City have. With Nkunku fit this year (touch wood) I see Palmer going to another level especially as he is the same age as Lampard was when he joined Chelsea. After watching him in the Euros he seems to find any player who is in a good position he is a unique talent, sadly a talent that Gareth could not spot.
