      Make sure to research which programs you study with. I have heard of some programs have relocated kids and put many Asian students in areas that had high hate crime rates. We shouldn’t support a program that supports anti-Asian hate. Please stop Asian hate! So please make sure to research before you go,

    We're hoping to get an exchange student from Australia next year. Our 1st one was from Italy, this year is Spain. We've been using CIEE and going to try with YFU next year.

      if you’re in America I recommend CCI Greenheart! That’s the company my host family used to find me, and also the one a couple of Australians I know ended up in California with. 😊

    I agree with You 100%!! There are so many factors that can/will affect Your exchange! But with Rotary there is much more ppl who go on exchange and You can choose (normally 3 or 5) top countries You wanna go to - maybe in New Zealand You have less Rotary clubs but I would say each club should send at least few students to US (most wanted place) I acctually had in my district in US girl from NZ 😂
    PS I post videos about studying abroad on my channel if You're intreasted to watch it 😊

    Hi Deanna... interesting to hear ideas in reverse,,, from a NZ girl who has been "there" rather than our views as host parents. Ummm... about organisations that pay families..... our first few daughters came through a well known, large international organisation that arranged through local high schools. The area coordinator was really on the ball and switched on.. We were paid, at that time, NZ$56/week, which was a help but we weren't in it for the money. Later, through the girls high school and a tertiary institute with international links, our students paid 200-220$/week-- that was the going rate. Our attitude was,,, these are like our "real" daughter-- and we will care for them just the same .... some are still in touch over 15 years later.....
    Yes,, and we came across it,, some families fail the care and respect test,,, and get weeded out. I'm sure you've heard a few stories...and the other way round, too.

    • @DeannaHayley
      @DeannaHayley  3 роки тому +1

      It depends on what country you’re from! In NZ you can’t go if you’ve already finished school, so the latest you can go is during your final year. My friends on my exchange who were from Europe had to go back and repeat the year in their home country because the American grades didn’t count
