You aren't carrying your kayak correctly. What you are doing is fine for a few paces but you really want to put it on your shoulder for more than that. Some people do pad out the cockpit rim where their shoulder sits, but use some foam and duct tape.
Absolutely Mark! However, the Rockhopper is super heavy and I struggle to carry it on my sholuder. Therefore, and as you say, for a few paces I carry using the cockpit rim, when putting onto trolley or the steps as seen in the video. Great comment and thanks for taking the time to make it.

@@EdDaveKayaking looking online it should be about 25kg. Not that much heavier than the latest pyranha river boat. Shoulder carry all the way!
