Such a SWEET 883. I watch this video over and over. Done several of your mods but you are the master. Thanks so much and congrats on such a sweet sweet ride.
Wow, what a beautiful ride... Love the sound it makes, reminds me of a running horse, I can just imagine full gallop... Would have been nice to see you ride...
Factory wheels and factor dunlop tires. The wheels were done by chrome pros in Texas and they have been on there over 5 years and no problems. Those guys do a hell of a good job.
Walter the bike had a carb on it where yours is fuel injected so it will idle a little higher. My idle sounds low but it really isn't. The pipes are what made a big difference. They are kind of long and that is what gives it that gallop sound. The pipes are also 2 inches around and give it a really low sound. They are made by Samson and do not have any internals just strait pipe. If you need help with anything else just let me know. JD
Clearance is not bad I have rubbed once or twice. My cluch cable is what has gotten scraped pretty good but I need a shorter one. The ride is what is rough but I just use it on short trips.
Thanks jckyle83 the handle bars are just some cheap 40 dollar 32 inch drag bars. They have a 2 inch pull back on them. Any drag bar should fit a sportster since they are pretty much the same.
I bought the pipes about 6 years ago If I remember right they are called Samson big guns or cannons. I really think they were called big guns. They are a 2 inch pipe with no internals.
Hey thanks for the comment. The pipes have a lot to do with the idle sound, I love the way the Samsons sound. They are really low and mellow and are not very annoying on the road.
You wont find them for a sportster. They are from an 1980 FLH, they are the 11 inch socks. They make the bike a little stiff but after a while they soften up. The caps on the top of the shock you are going to have to trim to make them fit. Just get you a good set of tin snips and a good file and the will look like they were there from the factory. Some of the old sporties used to come with this type of shock. If you need some more help let me know. You can get the shocks from Vtwin or Jireh
Good Evening, Love the way ur seat sits flush with the frame! Is That a 13" seat or 16" . i have a 2003 HD 100 Anniversary white and really want to get a nice solo seat like urs.
No plans the 883 is good enough. I just use the bike for mostly in town cruising, I don't ever really hot rod it. I have some other bikes and just cruise around taking it slow.
Awesome bike all-around. Not a chrome fan, but this is classy. LOVE IT!!! I agree with paleroller... Great sound! What type of handlebars are those? And would they (or something similar) work for an '06?
@fcfmedicineman I got them at the dealer you can get them from there catalog. I will try to get you the part numbers for the decals. I just have to find my old harley catalog.
@fcfmedicineman The gas cap is actually a wheel spinner that I drilled holes in and put a harley brake caliper emblem in the center. The spinner fits right over the gas cap and the set screw on the side holds in on and keeps it from spinning. you can get the wheel spinners on ebay and just about anywhere. I stopped at a tire store and they had one laying around. I can send you some picts send me an email.
Sorry brother I sold the bike or I would send you the pictures. It is pretty basic, all I did was take a wheel spinner..You can get them on ebay or at a tire shop. It should have a set screws on the side already. Just put it over the stock gas cap and tighten down with the set screws. I went to the harley shop and bought a brake caliper cover and put it on the center of the spinner. I just drilled some holes on the arms of the spinner and polished all the burs off. It actually looks like a factory cap and it's cheap to make.
It is 15" long by 11" wide. I had a pan and just covered it with some foam and leather. This guy on ebay has the cheapest metal pans if you need one. He can also make one for you I have one on my Triumph Bonnie that he made for me also. This is his website on ebay accufast2d.
Idled too low to me.. I'm sure it's as low as it will go. I like it. Just wouldn't run it like that if I were you. Unless your burning a higher oct. you'd want that gas to burn out faster than that.. On the other hand for show only so well played sir.
+Vlad Kichyn Vlad first it is a carbureted motor. The fuel injections models just don't sound the same. The pipes have a lot to do with it. I am guessing that it is because they are so long and wide.
I actually traded it and 6k for a clean 95 Impala SS. I guess you could say I got around $4,800 for it. The bike was new it was a 96 model but only had 2200 miles on it. I hardly ever rode it.
Bee-uteefull bike...but that is waaay to low of idle. It'll ruin your motor as there's not enough oil being pumped in. 800 is lowest and that jewel ^ can't be turning more than 600 at the most...probably a helluva lot less.
What a beautiful sound swishing when you get close and that muffler sound!
Such a SWEET 883. I watch this video over and over. Done several of your mods but you are the master. Thanks so much and congrats on such a sweet sweet ride.

Great Job on the bike! And like someone already said, that is a great idle sound. I love the lazy gallop...someday I'll get mine tuned up right. lol.
Beautiful job man. Loving everything from top to toe. She's a credit.

Thanks jckyle83 the handle bars are just some cheap 40 dollar 32 inch drag bars. They have a 2 inch pull back on them. Any drag bar should fit a sportster since they are pretty much the same.
Really nice bike, the guy who got it got a really sweet deal, sure looks like it's worth quite a bit more than $4800.
I bought the pipes about 6 years ago If I remember right they are called Samson big guns or cannons. I really think they were called big guns. They are a 2 inch pipe with no internals.
@63busfreak what kind of seat is that... very nice set up love the sound those pipes make
Love that idle.

Hey thanks for the comment. The pipes have a lot to do with the idle sound, I love the way the Samsons sound. They are really low and mellow and are not very annoying on the road.

I put an oil pressure gauge on it and keep a close eye and only let it idle like that when its cold and the oil is thick.

It should be illegal to have a bike this beautiful. Sir I'm calling the cops on you. I have one of these doesn't look as cool.
@63busfreak sorry I ment to ask where you got the gas cap.
It really is not idling that low it is the pipes that make it sound that way.
2 1/2 inch exhaust pipe, could not get it to clear the pipe. I kind of like the mid control for the brake.
Sorry , I ment to say where did you get the gas cap
sick bike..how much were the handle bars??

BEATIFUL BIKE!!!
What is the exact modle of those pipes ?I have been looking for them can't find them.
Beautiful Bike. I just bought the new seventy two. Your seat was stock and you just had it leathered by a saddle Company? Give me their number.
@19wheels91 The bars were just a cheap 30 dollar drag bar. The controls I just removed the black paint and polished the hell out of the aluminum.
very nice

Hey JD can you still send some pic's of how you did the spinner gas cap ?
Sorry brother I sold the bike or I would send you the pictures. It is pretty basic, all I did was take a wheel spinner..You can get them on ebay or at a tire shop. cool
The shocks will bolt up with no modifications.
Perfect potato sound! How did you get the sound?
It has to be the lenth of the pipes. There the Samson Cannons.
Thanks

@mondia110
Gracias por tu commento.
Anybody else think that idle sounds like the rythm guitar in eye of the tiger?
Idled too low to me.. I'm sure it's as low as it will go. I like it. Just wouldn't run it like that if I were you. Unless your burning a higher oct. you'd want that gas to burn out faster than that.. On the other hand for show only so well played sir.
Good~!
How did you get this sound?
+Vlad Kichyn Just with Arlen Ness air cleaner and Samson Pipes?Or there's something else needed?
+Vlad Kichyn Vlad first it is a carbureted motor. The fuel injections models just don't sound the same. The pipes have a lot to do with it. I am guessing that it is because they are so long and wide.
what kind of seat is that ?
It is a custom made seat. I bought the pan and had a guy cover it with leather. I got the seat pan on ebay.
Ok ! Beautiful bike by the way !!
Look this guy up on ebay. He has all kinds of metal pans. accufast2d
Just looked, Great !! TNX !!
bella
@63busfreak Sorry I ment the gas cap.
Sheeeesh
Low idle is terrible for your engine. Not enough idle for the oil pump
How much did u sell it for lol
I actually traded it and 6k for a clean 95 Impala SS. I guess you could say I got around $4,800 for it. The bike was new it was a 96 model but only had 2200 miles on it. I hardly ever rode it.
i took my guitar and improvised something with the bike rithm...
Bee-uteefull bike...but that is waaay to low of idle. It'll ruin your motor as there's not enough oil being pumped in. 800 is lowest and that jewel ^ can't be turning more than 600 at the most...probably a helluva lot less.
