i agree, except for your opinion on Polos. A nice clean Polo shirt that fits properly looks good on anyone, no matter the age or body shape. I especially like the classic Polo Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger polo shirts. The polo you’re wearing looks like a sport golf polo shirt, etc.
Your channel has helped me elevate my style so much as I middle age! I used to wear a lot of brand, Los, flannel shirts and baggy clothes. I have since traded that all in for solid colors, no logos, and clothes that actually fit!
@@HYPERxSONICxFANx2012 its easy to understand. Imagine a WW2 veteran nowadays wearing a graphic hoodie, colorful sweatpants, Ben10 watch and hypebeast Air Force Ones. Isn't that just stupid.
years ago, listening to you and Real Men Real Style i made the mistake of mostly getting rid of my old style of clothes and buying new clothes that “fit” … but then a year later i gained a couple pounds and most of the clothes didn’t fit me anymore. the lesson i learned was.. buy clothes that fit comfortably and are a bit loose on your body… not clothes that are tight and perfectly fitted to your current body weight.
Just don’t get fat and go to the gym. I have pants that are 10 years old and even t shirts that I wear at home that are 15 years old. I have an athletic body type. Just keep it simple and have some common sense
Yes you can just keep eating healthy and go to the gym, but what you don't realize the older you get the harder it is to keep your body in a "skinny" state no matter what your diet is or work out. It's called aging too.
People in my area and social circles make fun of this. "Look at the preppy try-hard." because everyone is either broke, or just doesn't care about their appearance. It really sucks.
People will always make fun of those who choose to be different, for better or for worse However, if why you're different is a good thing, then it'll lead to a positive result once you get used to how people act when they're comfortable in their low standards. The important part is if you feel more confident and if you're getting good attention from the ones you care about People who are comfortable with low standards don't matter (their opinions, at least), but a potential employer or that nice girl you're dressing to impress might. At the very least, if you feel good dressing up, that matters
I’m 25 and about to wear a Charlie Sheen-esque bowling shirt to a date. All my friends told me not to but idgaf lol. I’m confident I can pull it off, hope she likes it.
More great information. I like the info about dressing your age. There comes a time when a guy should know what looks good on him and is age appropriate. That then becomes his classic look
You should make another video of outfit combinations we can wear I personally like the rugged/old money style those are my favorite , I can always pick the ones I like, and I branch out from there
Been trying find vids how to dress properly well iam 39 in a few months in my head iam 18 so wear trainers joggers and hoodies most of time caps cos paranoid my receding hair on top do shave my head so less noticible realized going have start dressing my ages do wear jeans mostly black
I'm an aircraft mechanic. There's nothing I like more after a grueling 12-hr day on the flight line than going home and putting on a nice suit coat and turtleneck while I watch a football game.
Just out of curiosity, how would a high school student who regularly adorns himself with Hawaiian shirts, button ups, the occasional vest / blazer, etc be stereotypically perceived?
Is it bad if a young man in early 20s wears clothing that might be perceived as for older people? Like a long tan jacket going down to the knees for example.
Totally works and has done for decades. The classics work at any age and will really make you stand out from your peers. Long camel coat is a massively stylish move too, good choice
I'm old enough to remember when "distressed" clothing was at a height in the early 2000s (abercrombie etc) and I always thought it would be funny to walk into one of those stores, bring some torn up piece of clothing to the register and ask to get it marked down because the clothing is ripped up and in horrible shape. "uhhh yeah this pair of jeans, its all torn up, I don't think its worth $100 its obviously been used because its ripped, can i get it marked down?"
This is some good advice, but not everyone wants to dress like a metro sexual or an urban guy. Nothing wrong with that if that's your choice. A lot of Us like myself prefer the more rugged masculine outdoor country look.
The bad suit was awful, also, because the tie matched the pocket square. That's a no-no. Great video. I am just getting into the older age range. I feel more comfortable in the clothes for my age than I ever did when I was younger. I think I look way better, now, than I did 20 years ago. Again, I wish I had these videos 20-30 years ago.

You mentioned never to wear running shoes. I actually can’t wear any other sneakers due to health issues on my feet. I’m a stylish guy but when I wear a suit, I wear black running shoes.
