I played baritone horn and bass back in 1964 in Jr. High 9th grade band, and this was our spring concert finale. It took me many years to remember what it was called, but this is an amazing masterpiece by Alfred Reed. It will always be with me.
A classic piece that I played in High School 50+ years ago...1st Horn. Most of his compositions are required, as they should be. Yes a great recording, little more high end would have been nice, Cymbals etc.,
Such a fun clarinet part to play.

Best recording of this piece I have ever heard. Mr. Reed would be smiling ear to ear.
Japan always has the best orchestras!
本当に、懐かしい曲。中学3年生の自由曲です。こんなに軽快な演奏が可能なんですね!
30年前、中学生の時に夏のコンクールでやりました。
懐かしいですね😁
Played this in 8th grade with the highschool. It was quite a challenge for my young self. I’d love to go through this now.
absolutely stunning!
It's really fun to play as well, coming from a 9th grader, it proves quite a challenge!

I too played this in high school; first flute (section leader) and we won a first in the Kiwanis Music Festival circa 1971. Wonderful formative years.

指揮は誰ですか?
If you're asking about the conductor, it's Alfred Reed himself!
