There’s actually a double meaning to that number. The number 1225 is also shared by the basis of the locomotive in the film, the Pere Marquette 1225, preserved at the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso, Michigan.
Of course you forgot it's also a nod to the locomotive's basis. Pere Marquette 1225. Who's operational at Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso, Michigan. There are differences though headlight however shares similarities with D&H and Erie designs, the whistle is from Sierra Railroad #3 (From hundreds of films such as BTTF 3) and the "Cow catcher" shares similarities with 19th century locomotives.
My favorite animated Christmas Movie of all time. I watched this film every year and this one is my favorite Christmas movie of all time. Merry Christmas everyone. 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Apparently the number 1225 is seen at the top of the tunnel where the flying ticket 🎟️ drops down and then gets hit by the train 🚂 in a previous scene. 😂 Classic film 🎥 this is from 2004. Hope it's sequel is even better.
Did you know that when all the kids are getting their refreshments ( a.k.a hot chocolate) the main girl caricature put aside one for the last boy that got on the train and turned to her left and put it on the seat. But then reach for a second time from the table with the same amount of cups on it, and put one on the floor under her seat and there were three on the table she reached under the seat to give it to the boy that was in the back cart
Bonus fun fact, the circular bits that fly around exceeds the amount we actually see on the ticket. I forgot the exact number but it's a little thing I noticed.
It’s also a reference to the real life Polar Express which is Pere Marquette 1225 the locomotive the author played on when he was a kid and inspired him to make the book
Fun fact, when the hero boy gets on the train you can see 5 passenger cars, but when it cuts to the wolf scene there are way more than 5 passenger cars.
Everyone says that 1225 is reference to the train and NOT that the train type is also a reference to 12/25- but it makes more sense the train is a reference to December 25th than December 25th being a reference to a train.
The number 1225 also represents the steam locomotive used for sound effects for the train in the movie, the Pere Marquette No. 1225. The loco number and the date of Christmas so happens to be a coincidence.
The Minecraft Wii U edition has a texture pack called the “festive save” and the center of one of the towns in that texture pack is based off the polar express’s town square where the kids meet Santa
Hey guess what the Polar Express’s number is 1225 symbolizing Christmas Day but the number of an engine is how many of the train company’s engine so the polar express is the 5th one they made but who is the company that owns the polar express?
I enjoyed it up until my little brother was about 3 and we had it playing 4 times a day for him. Now I could go the rest of my life without seeing it and it would still be too soon

Yep exactly. Only a true rail fan would know 🚂
I'd agree I was thinking that too
🤓 “Hey, you! Do you know what kind of train this is?”
The reason why they chose 1225 is a nod to the date of Christmas
@@JJRailfan263I asked a worker once and he said that was the number in line she was. What a coincidence.
What bothers me is that we never get to know Billy's present
When he shakes it, it makes the distinctive sound that you hear when you shake a lego box
@@bennickss really?
@@bennickssmakes sense
@@bennickssgiven the size of the thing, he totally got the 2008 LEGO Death Star.
My whole life I’ve thought it’s a huge puzzle or legos

Favorite movie not just for Christmas
Did YOU know that in violent night the many presents Santa pulls out of his sack shares the same wrapping paper as Billy's present from poler express?
That’s disturbing to hear
I loved Violent Night, lots of creative kills in that movie
Dang wut billy do?
And it’s also a reference to Pere Marquette 1225 the exact locomotive the polar express’s locomotive was based apon
This movie feels like a big chunk of the beginning was cut
It also means about the real locomotive pure Marquette 1225, the locomotive that the Polar Express in the movie is based off of.
that’s also the number of the locomotive
All i want to know is if the guy who helps everyone is a ghost because I didn’t realize this as a kid
Proof that copying and pasting the same asset sometimes enhances the movie
This is also a reference to the real polar express Pere Marquette 1225
INDEED
Ever train enthusiast came to the comments to correct this guy

Not only that, but the number 1225 is also a reference to the Pere Marquette 1225 steam locomotive. Which is what the Polar Express is based off of.

This taught us nothing
1225 is also on the number on the IRL Pere Marquette train
The loco numbered 1225 or cristmass day
The 0s at either end is a representation of when the first Christmas happened, before the first full year had happened
its also the road number of the Pere Marquette 1225 the train that the poler express was based on.
Your right and 1225 is the number of the real polar express called the Pere Marquette, that’s what the polar express is based off the Pere Marquette
Fun fact:polar express is actually ‘Pere Maquette 1225’
It’s also a reference to the real life Polar Express which is Pere Marquette 1225 the locomotive the author played on when he was a kid and inspired him to make the book

Polar Express is mad underrated
I was looking in on IMDb to notice anything I did or what it didn't see, and I noticed that date trivia
1225 is also the number of the steam locomotive in the film, the Pere Marquette 1225
For me in Sweden 😊Christmas Eve is 24 😊
The number 1225 also represents the steam locomotive used for sound effects for the train in the movie, the Pere Marquette No. 1225. The loco number and the date of Christmas so happens to be a coincidence.
Tom hanks.
The engine's number is also 1225, and is based on a real engine.
The Minecraft Wii U edition has a texture pack called the “festive save” and the center of one of the towns in that texture pack is based off the polar express’s town square where the kids meet Santa
The locomotive number is 1225 that’s why the ticket has 1225 on it
Yall are all out here announcing without announcing that yall are on the sceptrum
But the movie mostly takes place on Dec 24th at 11:55pm...Christmas Eve...
Josh Hutcherson is a legend.
Too much time on one’s hands
1225 is the number of the steam engine
It's also from the pere marquette 1225 berkshire steam locomotive which is the train that the polar express is based on
Or, it could be that the creators were nodding to the model of the train, "Pere Marquette 1225." Just a thought.
😱🚂 Potter’s Express Secrets
It the train and locomotive number as well
This is my favorite movie
ALSO ADDS to 10 THE END ... 1225 and are FREE ...10 The End, Finish

Hey guess what the Polar Express’s number is 1225 symbolizing Christmas Day but the number of an engine is how many of the train company’s engine so the polar express is the 5th one they made but who is the company that owns the polar express?
No its Not, IT Referees to the engine the polar Express ist based on
It’s not true. That’s the train model number. 1225
AND HE DOESN'T BRING UP THE BASIS OF THE POLAR EXPRESS
ITS PERE MARQUETTE 1225
*1 2 2 5*
Man that pisses me off so much
Update: I found the part 2 lol
Pere Marquett controlled half of Michigan it seemed. What a waste he was a priest with a cool name like that he could really have swooned the ladies.
Why The Polar express no have number 1225
