Asia Minor, for millennia home of many great civilisations, offers the opportunity to stroll though ruins and remains of ancient cultures e.g. romans and greeks - Demre, or Myra - as it was called in ancient times - is one of these sides worthwhile visiting. Myra, located in modern-day Turkey, was originally established by the Lycians, an ancient Anatolian civilization. The city was later inhabited and developed by the Romans, who constructed many of the structures that can still be seen today, such as the amphitheater and rock tombs.
