I was thinking of doing this exact thing! I recently ordered a metal ring, an Anker magnetic power bank, and even a case i can cut into to put the ring in, then i went on UA-cam and found this video doing my exact plan. Great minds think alike‼️

Thanks for the review. I love my otter box defender case for the iPhone 13 pro, the new defender xt with magsafe seem a little thinner, so not keen on getting one of those. However I will try your updated version at the end. Seems to be the way to go. Thanks for sharing .
i tried that and it's not strong enough. So I put it outside. Maybe some chargers have weak magnetique ability
Just came across this video two years later Danny! now that I am trying to do this very same thing for my older iPhone XR! But my ring from Amazon didn't come with an alignment guide though 😔. So I am left to ponder and figure it out! Any ideas on how to detect the charging coil underneath and align the ring right over it? I even bought a magnetic viewing film but I am not able to view the coil underneath (it's weak)
I would let the ring magnet connect to the phone, then put something on top of it that would transfer to the case so it’s lined up.
Does it help at all for non MagSafe wireless chargers, like just a regular wireless charging pad? Hoping it would increase to strength just enough.
I’m using a tozo wireless charger and it works with it.
I got the lifeproof with mag safe compatibility if you don't like the clear get a decal or skin for the back dude

That case will mar your phone up do not get it the face of the metal the bezel around the glass will be dented to crap because 9f the way it holds together and dust

Its magnitec stick on any metal surface? Or its just metal ?
It’s a magnet, It will stick but it’s very weak.

U messed up your case dude smh better to put ring outside case but it unsticks after couple months and leave residue, I use for my iPhone car charger for my 13 pro for my Samsung it works....on the outside. Maybe if the rubber had a mag ring installed on ot it would be better but they ain't doing g that for Samsung
I tried on the outside it wouldn’t stay, installed do side the rubber made it to thick for regular phone holders.

@@tegrity i have an ottorbox case non magsafe - put a magsafe ring on the back of case didnt work, put one in between case and shell didnt work. put it inside hard plastic piece didnt work. trying to figure out how to mod mine cuz i really like it but need magsafe more

Dude, why did you install the Anker accessory on the outside of your case, otterBox, traditional defender cases are ugly anyway

😂 just buy the defender series xt pro. Not worth all that hassle
It wasn’t out at the time, plus it’s thinner and has a slippery back.

The MagSafe rugged cases still don’t work with the wireless chargers - any I’ve found.
