If Anthony's declaration of love isn't poetry, I don't know what is.
Such a wonderful video. I absolutely love that you overlayed Anthony's voice and Benedict's voice when they recite Benedict's improvised poem, what a brilliant idea! You double the amount of feelings we experience, watching this. This was already one of my favourite scene from Benedict (the way Luke Thompson (Benedict) delivered these lines really got me, just wow), and you made it even better, added even more depth to it! Well done!
I loved how Anthony told Benedict he should indulge in poetry more often at the end of this scene, acknowledging the fact he is talented (and again at the end of ep.8 when he tells Benedict he is gifted and should do whatever it is he wishes to do, and he'll thrive in it - even if I'm still a bit mad at him for not realising he made a wrong move with his donation to the academy as it can make it look like he bought Benedict's acceptance, and how it crushed Benedict's self-confidence, at the moment, upon learning about it) but the man himself is absolutely blind to his own talent! He is a poet himself! "Do you think that there is a corner of this earth that you could travel to far away enough to free me from this torment?" Such an underrated line (compared to the one that followed that is great it's true, but this one shows all his despair, it's full of angst and feelings!) And of course after comes the glorious "you are the bane of my existence and the object of all my desires". I wish Anthony would also follow the advice he gave Benedict, to indulge in poetry too, by that I mean he should also acknowledge he has an "artistic" side to him and embrace it, that could help him step away from time to time to all his sense of practicality he must have as the head of the family that can make him a very rigid person/personality. But now that he found his one true love, I think we might see a different side to him (softer, more at peace etc) such as the glimpse we got in the epilogue. Oh I really cannot wait for s3, it's going to be an excruciatingly long wait!
Why did this make me tear up 🥲
"you are the bane of my existence, and the object of all my desires"
