Lol yeah when you’re like “damn what a beautiful melody” all of a sudden a ton of notes hit you at once and you can’t hear anything anymore. Then it comes back after some time

Prokofiev is definitely an acquired taste, but when given a chance his music will eventually find its way into your heart and you will appreciate the great uniqueness it holds and beauty will emerge from this for any listener willing to expand his or her musical explorations.
Of course this quartet is composed by a master and has solid writing qualities.. Nevertheless, it is far from having the value of those written by the masters of the string quartets. The so special four part writing of the string quartet is not perfectly suited to Prokofiev's musical genius, which is more comfortable with piano or orchertral writing. In addition, there are sometimes quasi-folkloric material which seems artificially inserted in the music. It is a pity that we never herad that two composer's string quartets, which are indeed excellent music, but it is true also thet so many Prokofiev's works have obviously higher musical qualities. Other works have the same fate, such as the 2nd symphony, highly dissonant and wonderfully built (it could have been inspired by Beethoven 's op. 111), but which was de facto censored in USSR and almost never played in Western countries.
I love how Prokofiev's music (really beautiful) often starts so beautifully harmonic and after like 10 bars goes BESERK
Very true loo
Starting from home he takes you on a HELL of a journey, but you always end up back

@@zephthezquirrellord For sure
this is an extremely intricate, brilliant, sophisticated and witty piece of music by Prokofiev... a true master of orchestration

I like how the viola and the cello have good parts in the music
violin does too, but okay
Here we go again yeah it does but a lot of string quartets have good violin parts. It's rarer for the viola and cello to get good parts
I said that it’s good that they have good parts because violins get all the melody stupidos 🤦🏾♂️
@@jesusortiz5214 Melody is for Violins and Harmony is for the Viola and the Cello. Is that what you meant?
@@rejedy Ik but I’m saying that it’s good that in this piece the cello and viola got good parts because the violin always has the melody
One of the greatest string quartets ever written; right up there with Ravel’s quartet and all of Shostakovich’s quartets!
Really underrated!
No argument here. One of my favorites of all time
9:39 one of my favorite parts
9:40-10:10 soooo gorgeous
10:22 to 10:32 in f minor is even more beautiful
Indeed. But I mainly just love the way the Pavel Haas Quartet makes those alternating accents between the vln 1, vln 2 and viola ring out so well
This is sooooo cool and a lot of fun to play
10:12 to 10:22 in C#minor, with the melody on the 1st vln... also very beautiful!
It's almost "Vivaldian" in nature. It is really beautiful.

3:08 is my favorite part, especially when the cello comes in
Absolutely incredible 3rd movement
The 2nd movement final chord in 14:08 is Windows error sound.
lol XD
Oh no 💀
At first hearing it, it sounds like the Windows error sound.
However, this chord is C-E-C, and I believe the Windows error sound is G-C-G-C.

There's a certain quality or sound or theme that reminds me what's to come in his Romeo and Juliette.
Who are the 6 haters? I don't understand. The interpretation? I mean, this was an awesome.
People who don't like a piece are "haters"? Aren't you a bit intolerant?

@@steveegallo3384 He might mean that, and people may agree or disagree with him, but "haters" is a very charged term.
Still, what’s the point of giving thumbs down, especially with no explanation? It does seem like “hating on” the post, or the piece, or whatevvvver.
To be fair, Prokofievs music is a very acquired taste
