That just proves that you guys are a very reputable shop if people from all over are shipping their vehicles to you for repairs that's a plus in my book very few shops like yours are left that people can trust
I'm doing a 5.6 in a '06 Nissan Titan, pulled the engine to replace with used , it looked to be in worse shape so just going the through this, head rebuilt @ $462, which included 6 valve, 4 tappet caps. New chains, gears, guides and tensioners. This doesn't have the vvt. or the fuel pump. Should be ready to go back in tomorrow, I like seeing someone replace the chains and gears without pulling the valve covers. I've been wrenching for 45 years, supposed to quit but owning my own shop for 25, maybe I'll just watch other do good work like you and do referrals, though I believe people here in Denver are too cheap or too broke to ship cars for repairs, this Titan owner is a customer I've kept running for 20 years, it's his kid I watched grow up now a marine. Looks like you're where you need to be and happy.
Depending on what all parts and pieces are included in that quote. You've got some VERY expensive parts costs especially with the high pressure fuel pump.
Everything comes direct through the dealer all OEM parts, on something like this it's not worth trying to save a couple dollars on something that MIGHT work or fit. Unfortunately no kit exists at least that we know of, just a very long list of part numbers
I did this job w my brother and forgot to put the clamp on the trans line and all the oil came out. Now car is running very rough misfiring. Wondering if that fluid got into something?
Do those engines require a high zinc oil as all that technology seems to fail due to a very expensive piece that is no more than a flat tappet camshaft? Great work, you must be looking forward to all the future ones.
No, high zinc oil will damage the three-way converters. The root cause of the problem appears to be the high pressure fuel pump leaking fuel and washing the oil film from the pass side chain and lifter cam. Once the cam is worn, it must be replaced.
@@LucoreAutoyeah some people say hey Martin you can fix cars I say yeah…to a degree 😂😂I don’t mess with timing chains or belts and definitely by all means do not touch transmissions😂
Holy Crap, that's a lot of parts and patience. Thanks Mr Austin and Mr. Rich.

How much does this whole service cost?

Are there any news on the 1967 Impala project? Still waiting...
Do you remove the oil jets for this job
What's the average time to complete the job?
Where did you get your parts from the dealer? Is there an online kit you can buy that contains everything?

What an experience, that owners no welder 😅 but sure glad it’s getting done right…
If my Nissan timing chain gets stretched. I’d send my car to you from California
This looks like a nice payday for the shop to the tune 3-4 grand in labor.
Definitely not a cheap service, more than the labor it's the hideously expensive parts but there is a WHOLE lot of labor involved in this no doubt
