The reclamation of Aiur is not going smoothly. Zeratul tried to warn Artanis about the looming darkness but it is already too late. It's time to try to get the Xel'Naga artifact from James Raynor, but it is already too late... Amon has arrived on Aiur.

same, i pre-orderd the game when it came out, when i got the key, played and saw that in the second mission my favourite caracherd died i wasnt happy, i actually tought that Zeatul would have a little more screen time...

Lowko, in the case you didn't know (just for storytelling), Adun was a powerful ancient protoss executor, that was once comanded to execute the rogue protoss that had cut their head organs in order to preserve their individuality instead of being linked to the khala. Adun instead of executing them faked their deaths and hid them. But once discovered by the conclave, all of the rogues were send in a ship into space, and Adun sacrificed himself in order to save them. Adun toridas means: Adun hide you.

I highly recommend The Dark templar Saga. 3 books, cool stuff. Lots of protoss lore and history.
Adun was also the first Twilight Protoss who can harness both Templar and Nerazim energies. It was said that in great distress he would return. Tassadar would later fulfill that who would also become the same as Adun's sacrifice: using both Nerazim and Templar energy to avoid a greater threat.
This is also part of why Ouros' deception in pretending to be tassadar is so effective on Zeratul- because the nerazim myth of the "twilight messiah" returning in times of great need was sort of true with the way tassadar did what he did- so him coming back to help the protoss avert their extinction totally fits within the nerazim religion

nah, Zeratul fells more like Mediv from Warcraft universe. Old man who ran around with prophecies trying to fix past mistakes. Now Fenix, on the other hand...
I still think Tassadar is the greatest Protoss Hero, but there's no denying that Zeratul is very close.

What does it actually mean
Well if you want more lore, I got something for Shakurus lore. You remember Taldarin from Fenix's co-op kit? Well the original one is playable from the Stukov series of extra missions from BW (ones that explains his story of dead to alive to infested) When you meet Taldarin, he says was the the first Dragoon and was in Cyro for over 3000 years and fought alongside Adun. Chris Metzen later said to ignore the number 3000 because they just picked a big number before mapping the timeline and that the real number was much lower. If you talk to Vorazun on Sharkurus, they talk about how Adun was the one who chose to exile the Dark Templar when it was exile or murder them. Since Zeratul is about 650 and is one of the few DT to know Aiur's location prior to reunifcation, that makes it so that their exile/Adun's late feats was in Zeratul's lifetime.
The nerazim were exiled from shakuras a little less than a thousand years ago, Raszagal was a child when they first left aiur (and she personally met adun/was part of why he helped them after meeting her and realising they had no ill intents and just wanted to live their lives) Zeratul would've been part of the first generation of nerazim born on shakuras.
It's never really remarked upon, but the first time he saw his homeworld was when he had to go protect it from a threat he himself accidentally led to it, which is kind of sad when you think about it

I just personally love Arthas as a person, he just sacrificed everything for, from his point of view, was at start a greater good. But he got "corrupted" and used.

Agree 100%, the song alone along with the desolation, brutal, just brutal.
Probably it hasn't aged well, but the cinematic from Broodwar still gives me goosebumps. Grim, dark, captures the desperation of hopeless terrified marines figthing in a trench against thousands of zergs. And DuGalle and Stukov were amazing characters.

To a Nerazim say "My life for Aiur" specially after all Zeratul has endured... first time I saw this scene I cried, and until nowadays it gives me goosebumps...
I still remember the first time I watched that cutscene, and I still get teary to this day.

Selendis does too. Protoss don't have concepts of nicknames. Probably because they don't use mouths (unlike the lesser beings) to communicate and don't need to shorten names.

Final Fantasy cut scenes are just... AMAZING. Final fantasy X, tidus and yuna moment at the end of the game almost makes me cry every time.
I realy love the Cinematic Trailer for the Classic WoW so many years ago. The part with the dwarf on the mountain near Ironforge and his bear. Freaking awesome.

That SC1 cut-scene with the marine searching the base and then sneak attacked by a hydra. Both the coolest and scariest cinematic I have ever seen.
A close second is both the LoTV and HoTS opening cinematic. Both are super epic.

I love that in the middle of the starcraft mission he cuts to the Wrath Trailer. Easily my favorite trailer from them to this day too. Still gives me chills everytime i see it. Hell it almost brings me to tears with all this new lore being brought up
Basicly the Protoss Khala and the Zerg hive-mind are the same, although practicly they have differences, they share the same network override that the Xel'Naga Amon used to control them.
Favourite custscene was the one between act 3 and 4 for Diablo 2, where we witness the transformation of Diablo. Starts of showing us all around, then everything builds up, the music, the tension, the sense of urgency all to the battle ahead beyond that portal.
Apparently that one zealot has a stronger resistance than Artanis to Amon's corruption

Hey Lowko! You should check the cinematics of Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO. Not the best game, but cinematics are pretty nicely done.
BTW at the start of the video since the time skip is not defined you can imagine that Zeratul needed like day to prepare and reach the void seeker. It was never said that it was 10 minutes ago or anything.

Cool easter egg, if you have Artanis as your menu background he'll be equipped with Zeratul's gauntlet however when Artanis puts the gauntlet away in the menu Artanis instead is equipped with his own Psi blade ^_^

14:47 probably won't be notice cause its two years, but I think Mihoyo actually makes some great cinematics for their games. Granted they are basically anime shorts, but the cinematic "Will of the Herrscher" has actually made me download one of their games on the spot after seeing it.
Best cinematic is when Kerrigan was left on the planet and she realized she was all alone that feeling got me hard.
Favourite cinematic is probably the one at the end of Warcraft 3 where Archimonde dies on the World Tree to a ton of wisps.
Runners up: the one earlier in the game where Archimonde destroys Dalaran with sand magic; the one from Starcraft where the zerg travel through a wormhole; the one where Tassadar destroys the Overmind; and the one where the Xel'Naga temple explodes on Shakuras.
I like the two SC1 trailers, with the terran outpost shooting a dragoon and then getting destroyed by cloaked protoss. All the terran scinematics of Starcraft 1 are amazing. The Earth Admirals observing the terran colonists fighting zergs in the trenches are super cool too, in SC1 Broodwar.
One underrated tip for the protoss campaign is to make sure you have solid sim city. You can often make solid wall offs with your structures that end up paying off in a big way and the starting configurations generally are set up so that you can do it easily.
I know this is old but i have to say, the final cutscene of the wc3 human campaim where arthas murders his father is such a cool scene

No no, best cinematic of Blizzard is from Diablo III, the scene on Deckard Cains funeral. I was so in tears, my PC got nearly waterdamaged.
Spear of Adun was actually constructed during Protoss golden age as the last hope for the protoss race. There were actually 3 arcship but 2 were destroyed by Overmind during the invasion. so just try to imagine how much space they took first to build and store.
Btw Wrath of the lich king trailer ftw, though it actually plays on nostalgia with the almost mournful music when Arthas takes the first step
Lowko, if only zeratul remains when you reach the stairs before Artanis, there's actually a special line from Artanis. What's more ? This mission cannot realy be failed since ennemy has no detection & zeratul is always invisible
Arthas's betrayel from warcraft 3 is the best I think.It's one of the most important things that happened in the whole story and the music is great.
The carrier can be later found dead where Artanis is corrupted, same one making the funny sound after the mutalisks in the cut scene.

Personal favorite Blizzard Cinamatic has to be the 'introduction of the zerg'. "Sarge I think ya hit somebodies dog."
Agreed WOTLK trailer sung by the choir boy "Falsettos" is quite moving and goes well with the animation. Was one of my favorites for sure and gave me literal chills when I first saw it.
Dont forget Adun and Khas...they are also immense heroes...
my fave blizzard cinematic would definitely be Heart of the Swarm intro. It's kinda satisfying seeing the zerg swarm the city completely. It also really captures how zerg is meant to be played :D
Funny fact.
If you'd look at the Stalker 3D portait, you can occasionaly see them raising some kind of needles up to their face, like "arms" ending with needles.
So... they probably wear some warm sweaters under all that armor. Hence why they can Blink through the Void and no other Protoss can?
The Overwatch Crusaders animated short is the top one. And the opening cinematic for LotV comes a close second.

Brief note: Now that Amon has control of the Templar on Aiur, he also has the ability to interface with all of their technology. That includes their Warp Gates - you know, like the one that you used in Brood War to escape to Shakuras.

The reason of why Amon can corrupt the Khala is that, with my assumption, the khaydarin crystals which form the Khala allow Amon, who brought those crystals to Aiur in the first place, take control of them.
I really like the SC1 scene where a couple of marines are sent to destroy the science vessel. THANK GOD FOR COLD FUSION!

FYI, Zergs needs someone to control them, if the commanding force is gone they turn feral rather than hibernate or deactivate. They just lose control like an animal in the wild.
