Dahlia Festival Netherlands 2022- Not Just Tulips Anymore

New Amsterdam Travel Video- The Netherlands is known for its tulip production and one of the biggest growing areas is an area west of Amsterdam, between Leiden and Haarlem. During April and May, thousands of people flock to this area to see the tulip fields and the Keukenhof Gardens. But did you know that between August and October, dahlias are grown in the same fields? Here, during this time, the Dahlia Festival takes place, where you can visit the dahlia fields; the show gardens, such as the Tulip Barn and the Tulperij; and the Keukenhof Castle. There is also the Mosaic Weekend, where people make artistic mosaics out of dahlias and display them in front of their houses, farms and businesses. During this weekend, we biked to the different dahlia fields; took photos in the dahlia and sunflower fields of the Tulip Barn; and walked among the dahlia gardens of the Keukenhof Castle. And in between everything, we tried to find many of the different mosaics spread around the area, including in the village of Hillegom. This is the first time we discovered the Dahlia Festival after many years of living here. We assume that many of you also have never heard of it and we’re very excited to show it to you.
