  • I've showed you how to overwinter pepper plants now it's time those chilli plants are waking up so it's important to get them off to the right start.
I'll demonstrate a really simple way of overwintering chilli plants so you can start growing chillies a lot earlier next year and how to wake them up again and the thing you need to look out for. So if you grow chillies from seed each year why not try to keep your chilli plants alive through the winter so you can get earlier bumper harvests next year.

Thanks Monty, this is a great video on looking after your overwintered plants, I overwintered mine in the greenhouse so I will have a look at them and maybe bring them inside, thanks for the prompt 😊

Perfect timing. I was just thinking that my mini sweet peppers (that look like pointy chillies) were looking sad and that I was about to throw them out. With a bit of a clean up I can see the new shoots forming for next year. Thanks again for your advice 😊

Perfect timing, I have just started reviving my chillies that I overwintered. The Naga Morich and Trinidad Scorpions already have plenty of new growth, the Carolina Reapers seem to be a bit behind but they do have plenty of tiny new leaves just coming through, so should be ok.
My new chilli seeds have yet to germinate, but the tomatoes have poked through already.
All the best for the coming season, not long now till it’s back to the greenhouse for spring!

Bicarb of soda on the compost will help control the mould

Oh no! I overwintered my chillies following your instructions, but just recently I saw they were covered in white aphids so just chucked them onto the compost - was worried about the aphids spreading to neighbouring pot plants.
Now I realise I could just have washed them!! 😢

I forgot to bring my chilli plants inside over winter. Are they recoverable or beyond hope as I left them in the greenhouse.

    Salaam Brother
I sowed some seeds indoors today (tomatoes, peppers)
Have I left it too late to expect a crop during the summer?

Can I not just completely submerge the plant for a minute or two ?

you only need to spray them with soapy water the soap breaks the surface tension on the insect and it drowns.this guys a bit over the top your better off talking to a gardener.
