Wow, I can hear rain drops in this video. Living in Southern California we don't hear rain
drops very often. It is very nice to hear in the desert area of our country.
We can see the huge oil transport vessels that move our energy around the world.

MSC Ellen has presumably just been acquired or chartered, and they haven't got round to repainting her yet. Mind you, Vayenga Maersk is only three years old, but her paintwork is looking pretty worn. You can see where it's been touched up with whatever shade of blue came to hand 💙

Yes bad look for Maersk eh? Not the biggest container ship Maersk has so they should bring it in for a full repaint.

From early childhood, i love cargo ships, but how they are being modernized today, just terrifying! The VLCC was lucky, its appearance is not spoiled by the scrubber, neat 2 pipes to the main👍But this, is what the craftsmen did on the container ship, makes me laugh🤣 Oh, this fashion for scrubbers, although no, not a fashion, but a requirement!😡

Oil is definitely needed for as long as we can use it . Wind and solar energy will not do it. Hidrogen will be our next fuel for energy. A lot of electricity is required to seperate it.

It looks like someone forgot to turn off the washer for the port anchor-chain. The other streams of water are likely rainwater being pumped overboard, given the surface area of that thing. Although i have to say the raindrops I am hearing throughout the video doesn't make it seem bad enough to warrant THAT much water being pumped over the side.

No, there are not so many ULCC's around anymore. A lot of the ULCC's are converted to FPSO's. So concerning crude carriers, these VLCC's (as this one is) are the largest crude carriers floating around in large numbers. The time of ULCC's is far behind us.

BS! 5.5 million cars.. do the math.
First lets take an average 4 door sedan...let's say 1 metric ton.
This tanker weighs 319.778 tons.DWT.that's ship including its payload.
That's 319778 cars if you like...so your off by 5 million 180222 cars..
The "wrong" on your 5,5 million cars:
If this ship would burn the same amount of fuel as your 5,5 million cars, the ship would be accompanied by two of her sisterships only to provide for her fuel.
In other words she would make no sense at all.
The formula is: what does she weigh, and how much fuel/energie do I need to move that weight.
IA if this ship used as much fuel as your 5.5milion cars,...5,5 million tons, instead of 319778 tons.
Another thing for your green heart...
These ships, and for instance truck's running on Diesel or bunkeroil.
They all are yelling about how polluting Dieselfuel is..
But what they never tell you; a liter of Diesel fuel delivers approximately 7 times more energy then a liter of gasoline.*
Sure they won't tell you that, they rather sell you 10 liters of gasoline than 1 liter of diesel.
Meanwhile your average Dieselengine is cleaner than the average gasoline engine.
*I drive an 18wheeler, I take 1200 liters of diesel, if I would run on gasoline , I would need 7000liters of fuel for the same trip...and dont even have tanks that big..
