Thank you so much for the love on my last video of my zoom wedding anniversary date night with my husband. A lot of people reached out to me asking about marriage tips and commenting on how they love our chemistry etc. As much as we are best friends, we are constantly working on having a good marriage and our marriage is definitely not perfect.
So I thought to share a story of a not so perfect time our marriage so you guys get the Dee Low (inside scoop) on the realities of marriage. I love how you talked about God speaking to you through your husband . It’s so amazing how God speaks to us and we don’t listen.
Also, I think as first daughters, we are so used to being in control of everything and it gets tempting to also let that spill into the marriage and our husbands. I’ve been married for two years and I can relate to this so much. I’ve had to learn over time to listen, be considerate and also be patient and also get out of my head. Thank you so much for sharing.
Yes! It’s always when you look back that it becomes clear that God was speaking to you. I try and take a minute now in certain situations before making rash decisions. Also I totally agree about first born children. We are pretty much used to being a demi- parent so sometimes it’s easy to become bossy at home or stuck in our ways. God help us lol! I’’m definitely still in the process of working on that lol but i‘my trying.

My husband and I have never had that type of fight since that day. It was definitely a turning point for us. I was also glued to Bellanaija weddings dreaming! Loool. Marriage is a beautiful experience, the good outweighs the bad.x

Oh wow I learnt a lot from this. I'm the first child as well and I am a hot head. In the heat of such argument and situation, I am your dad😂. I wouldn't even want to see him that night and all but then see what that action cost you. From this I clearly learnt that somehow great things are planned for us but we ruin it by ourselves without knowing. I mean I'm sure that intimate dinner he organized would have meant more to you and perfect the romantic image you planned in your head for that day but somehow everything we ruined because of the most silly thing. Thank you so much for sharing. I enjoyed every bit of it.
Chimdindu Okafor Exactly! And God kept giving me signs to go home! Going to the restaurant and it was closed, my husband telling me to go home. I learnt to take a step back and ask God what he is saying in each situation. Also to chill and if one of us is upset the other one has to tone it down so things don’t get out of hand. Thank you! Trust me it’s a process. I’m still learning and sometimes I end up learning the hard way lol. I’m definitely getting better at keeping calm with conscious effort. Taking a step back etc.
