Do you recognize wind damage on shingles?

Those are the hardest shingles to find the creases on!

I'm currently doing hail inspections in Texas just north of Dallas after that nasty hail storm that came in late May, and again 5 days ago. It pretty much explains itself consider the average hail size is 4" in diameter, but I've definitely been looking to get a better understanding of wind damage as a lot of it looks the same to me unless its very obvious from missing shingles or noticeable zipping and slippage. What do you recommend do better understand the wind damage? Also, I've been only doing this as inspections and not adjusting, but I'm wondering what you would recommend I do to get the attention of rosters while I'm out here for another 2 weeks.

Thank you for your post and congratulations on the work
Wind damage is actually very simple to diagnose, and it’s going to be noticed when the shingle is lifted. You might see the creases, but typically the shingle is going to flop. Just a quick lift of the shingle, will show the wind damage. And typically if I can’t get a good photo, I’ll just show the shingle lifted past 45° and take a photo.
As far as getting on the rosters and getting their attention. You’re in a perfect position now that you have been deployed to put that on your résumé. Call every firm imaginable, let them know that you were just deployed, and asked to be put on their roster. Repetitive calling, and talking to the same person is always a good strategy. Thanks for watching.

@@danieltheadjuster Thank you for the quick response! Absolutely love your videos, me and my wife have been watching a bunch of them! Currently, I am on the rosters for Pilot, RENFOE, Crawford, Alacrity, and I think one more I can't remember right now, but even with X1 certification, and my current inspection experience, I haven't been hearing anything from them. I have my 2-20 and 6-20 license and am about to get HAAG certified along with the fact that I have all the proper roofing materials: cougar paws, GOAT pro, rope and safety harness equipment, but I only have my adjusting license in Florida at the moment. Are there non-resident license states you would recommend? Would love to set up a consultation call with you soon as I am making semi-decent money doing inspections with SeekNow but I'm waiting to get paid again which is next week. Sorry for the long response, and thank you so much again for a very quick response, you are the best news for adjusting I have found on UA-cam and I have watched a lot of different channels so far. You really do make a difference!

Wow Tom, thank you so much. I really appreciate your feedback. Yes definitely get some more licenses. That might be holding you back. I generally go for the entire gulf coast licenses, and the eastern seaboard up to North Carolina. Minnesota is a good one for hail, Indiana, for wind and hail.
But I will definitely get on some more rosters. Some of the smaller companies can get you deployed quicker, because typically everybody gets on the big ones. Check out www.catadjuster.org/careers Definitely some good firms listed there.
It sounds like you are geared up just fine. Thanks for watching.

@@danieltheadjuster had manufacturer defect on one of my properties. Had roofer who had direct contact them. Had the rep come out and pull a shingle for testing. Came back and replaced the roof. Took my insurance out of it. I dont put up with that shit. Not going to dump a manufacturing issue on my insurance company. That is pure fraud. Roofer handles all my roofs now and forever.
