I don't know the actual rules concerning Tronald's cheese but that and the displacement porting seems a bit much at that level

Would be more of an even match up if Tronald & Raarh were on separate teams, though I don't know emotionally if they could handle that

Its such a D&D move for Saxiron to complain/point out that Tronald's Burning Hands spell shouldn't be able to effect him because he's underwater literally right after he himself cast Firebolt at Raarh from under the water...
Man, I wish actual combat could ever be even half that fast.

Although magical fire does work underwater because there's no rules against it, all creatures submerged in water have resistance to fire damage, so Tronald shouldn't have been able to deal that much damage. Either way, great video lmao.
Was about to say this. Also, to comment on Saxiron's attempted Booming Blade on Tronald and Raarh's swing onto Saxi while he was in the water, those attacks would be made at disadvantage because of neither were using piercing weapons (i.e. spears, tridents) or have a swim speed.
@@Mrryn I noticed that as well, but some people ignore the underwater disadvantage rules, it just felt weird to make a point that fire spells can be used underwater but ignore the fact that the damage should be halved. Also, Saxiron should have been unable to swim to Tronald without dashing as he doesn't have a swim speed so he would have to use up 2 feet of movement for every 1 foot he moved, thus meaning he could only make it half the distance.
@@dweebie Also unrelated but there was the round where Celestia blast Raarh with Guiding Bolt even though she used Healing Word on herself in the same round.

His AC was 21 😜
The hits he received were never below 21 to hit, it just wasn't represented by his stat block as that was his 'base' AC without the armour donned

The fact that Saxiron cheated with temp hps, Celestia ignored disadvantage on guiding bolt from being in melee with a hostile bear while attacking Rawr, but also Joe ruling that water doesn't give you resistance to fire damage and gaslighting Saxiron saying there was nothing in the rules about it
Honestly this is about how my D&D games go too, the final outcome however was not defined by these rules mishaps, it didn't end up mattering

Exactly!.. The accomplishment (risk/reward) wasn't that big for Tronald and Raarh... But imagine the clout if Saxy/Celest pulled it off!..
Agreed. Poor Celestia wasn't given the choice of partner but agreed to the match. Saxi (artificers, in general in my opinion) is a support member of the party. A vital role, but he isn't going to best tronald or rahr in a battle. I doubt Celestia and Saxi combined could beat either of their companions and together its not even a contest. Then again I always play spellcasters or spellcaster/martial combatant multiclasses so I'm probably biased.

6:36 That's not how Faerie Fire works, Saxi, it affects the targets in the area if they fail their DEX save and then for the duration they remain affected no matter where they move. Tronald cannot "move out of the area it's affecting".

Been curious why Raarh reactivates his rage so often? According to the basic 5e rules rage lasts 1 minute and a combat round is only 6 seconds, so a single activation of his rage should last 10 rounds. But it seems when in combat he reactivates it every two rounds or so.
If you don't get attacked or make an attack before the start of your next turn, your rage fades 😁

The number of rules mistakes are many: No concentration checks were rolled when anyone took damage. When Tronald took a booming blade hit, he should have taken additional damage when he moved on the following turn. The burning hands should have done half damage to Saxyron because he was in the water. Fun to listen to though.
Booming blade was shielded in the end, but all the other ones yeah, I missed them - that's what happens when you're overworking yourself I guess, I'll look into dropping down to 1 ep every 2 weeks or something when it comes to battles in the future, too much to do with the time I have in just a week :/

Hey dude I've made a fair few announcements/comments in previous videos on this - I'm going with CR Campaign 1 rules in terms of spellcasting
Can cast 2 spells aslong as one of them is a level 1 'bonus action' 😁

I'm curious here! The battle unraveled in an interesting and engaging way. Did you actually roll those dice as you went through it or did you decide those on your own to reach the ending you thought would be better?
They were actually rolled! I was tempted to switch a couple of things up as I felt saxy was having a super rough time, but then I thought nah - as I wanted to keep it true to the dice!
