    It almost didn't recover the take-off. good flying. Why a 130%, to fit the motor/prop combination? That yellow glows!

      It was because of the motor combo and I really wanted to try the airframe. I will be building another here soon. Probably a 115-120%. Its a fun machine man

    That thing almost flies as fast as my strip goblin which I’ve timed at 110mph with Fpv setup

    I know this video is a year or better old but i just found your channel...and first off awesome build skills man!!! Your aircraft look great! What do you use to paint them or cover them?

      I have tried a myriad of things for the graphics from just pasting posterboard onto the peeled foamboard, to colored packing tape. The one method i used the most is to soak in some polyurethane to seal it from the elements then just spray paint it.
      I appreciate the comments man, happy you enjoyed the video. The goblin was one wing i really liked from this first forward. It really helped me understand wing dynamics. Now thats all i fly

    Not so much a goblin, but a speed demon! Nice flight! Looks like a pretty calm day too.

      Yea not really Goblin-esk kinda of flying, but it could be a lot more maneuverable if I dialed it in that way, mid and High rates are more faster on the sticks. Plus it being bigger makes it look more docile in the air. Have you built one before?

    Hi Chris, any chance to get the files for the 130% version?

    • @North49RC
      @North49RC  3 роки тому

      All i did was upscale in Adobe Acrobat in the print option. There are no specific plans for that size. You can up or downscale any plans that way

      Sorry, to ask you again. Someone told me, after upscaling, I would need a thicker Foamboard. Is that true?

      @@nadimraja3216 Actually no, its pretty easy to use the same FB you have been using. However you do need to be aware of the fold over cavities. Whether its an A or B fold and what scale you are using. You can upscale or down scale on the same FB and for the most part everything will work out if you follow a couple simple rules.
      One would be to decide what scale you are goin to go with, sometimes this is left up to experimentation, multiple builds of the same model to get it right. You need to watch the build vid first before knofe hits FB, I wouldnt dive right in raw. Then have a plan once you have printed off your templates. I even draw out the lines I will be using to fit said FB to the cavities or slots. You wil also need to compensate for the spaces allowed for servos because once printed out, everything scales with it.
      As long as you are willing to play with it a bit, might have to build the same piece twice to get it how you like it. Make corrections and compensations as you build. Measure and dry fit till its right. I have built a hand full of variations of the same model to figure out the scaling. The Scout, Goblin, Cub to a Kitfox, Seaduck. Just takes some headscratching and figuring out along the way.
      What model are you looking to scale?

    Dude you got yourself a mean rocket ship there! It's like my BattleAxe/HammerTail. What kind of lighting system are you using inside the nose? It's the brightest thing in that cold blue landscape.

      Thanks. It was quite fast. I am thinking of doing a new one, an improved version. This one broke the spar and had to scrap it

      @@North49RC Did the spar break in a collision with invisible hard air or did the ground jump in front of you out of nowhere? Seriously, I'm worried about my version.

    • @North49RC
      @North49RC  4 роки тому +1

      @@team-zracing7476 It was weird, I took it out after a handful of successful flights and it was acting up this time, receiver issues. It crashed and I did a quick once over with it and sent it back up. Spar broke mid air but it didn't fold up like you would expect. It folded down for some reason.
      Next one will be getting CF tubing reinforced box spar. Smoothed out wings, maybe a molded instead of folded body

    nice build! What did you use for a firewall?

    • @North49RC
      @North49RC  5 років тому

      Thanks, till I snapped the spar at about 6 flights in. I will build another one again probably in the spring. the firewall is a thin plastic cutting board cut and drilled to size. I find it holds up better then ply
