The sound these cars make, seems like maybe when they are regening a lot under braking is just insane. I absolutely love it.
no its a technology called anti-lag that partially self degrades the engine but keeps the turbo spooled up ready to boost the intake air. But yes, partially correct this year they have made it more aggressive engine mapping for some reason.
@@TheFikuit could just the anti lag, but it seems to sound different this year...and varies depend on how heavy the cars are braking
@@TheFiku They are hybrids now so some of that difference is definitely from the braking/coast regen

These Hybrid cars really surprised me. I thought the new Hybrid cars may be dull like today's Formula 1 cars. But these new 500 Horsepower Rally 1 cars are almost as exciting as the Group B cars. The WRC is starting to be a bit more exciting.
It's insane. Even 380hp is plenty of power already for rally. Best of all, it sounds a lot more brutal than before.
Absolutely love the soundtrack of these new hybrid cars!! So much better than I was expecting!! Looking forward to the season 😀 👍 👌
Aye but it's only 500 HP of boost when it's available, the rest of the time it's 380~ bhp or better.
I do enjoy the sound of the new Puma and as always the Hyundai never fails to turn heads. :)
@@Allaeius when you get behind the wheel, 200-300 feels like too much lol. Even with the reduced aero regulations they still seem to stay well planted. (Edit: I'm not claiming to be a rally driver, just from my limited experience in WRC 10 LUL)

Not a veteran of watching WRC by any means so I have a question. Why do the drivers still wreck by missing a corner? Arent the rally stages (tracks) the same every year so after a few seasons they should have the course down by memory?
I didn't see any shots of cars with electric only on a stage. Are they not doing that? Only on the transits?

When off throttle and you can hear that strange noise F1 cars make a similar sound?
I think it's the turbo anti lag system (aka "bang bang"). That cracking sound is amazing.
It is the energy regen for the hybrid system
@@juanjosefraga9310 some of that is anti-lag but it is also from the hybrid regen system. Thats why they sound similar to f1 off throttle and during braking at times.
