    This is Mercedes CLA 250e Plug-In Hybrid accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in Sport mode and then in all electric mode with time measurements. First attempt in a Sport mode was done by releasing the brake pedal and pushing the accelerator and the second attempt in Sport was done with holding the car on a brake to gain revs. Enjoy!

    @v-told:
    do you still have the boost from the electric engine when the battery is empty?

    • @VToldsMotoShow
      @VToldsMotoShow  3 роки тому +3

      It should have it since the battery is never totally empty. This is in normal driving. However, the question might now be what if we do full accelerations with 0% of battery level shown a few times. I wonder how this would work and if at some point the car would not be able to use its full power - and if so, then when that may happen. Now to this question I don't know an answer.

    What is the petrol only consumption, lets say you don't have much time to charge your car on a long trip?

    • @VToldsMotoShow
      @VToldsMotoShow  3 роки тому +1

      I'll be mostly guessing that it should be between 6 and 11 liters - minimum outside the city and maximum in the city accordingly. It's a pretty wide range but it is what it is with petrol engines.

      Once the car runs out of battery, it needs to power itself with the combustion engine. Or if you want to have full power etc.

    How's the actual electric only mileage ? i have 80km to work and back.

    • @VToldsMotoShow
      @VToldsMotoShow  3 роки тому +8

      I'd say you won't make it on electric only. It should be around 50 km maximum (count 40km perhaps) and let's say 5 km more if it starts using petrol engine and recharges the battery on the remaining 30 km. However, then it's like you've driven 25 km on petrol instead of 80 so savings on fuel are enormous and this choice would totally make sense. It's kind of satisfying too.

      depends on weather and speed but maximum I did is around 75 with 100 kmh on the speedway with warm weather. I guess 80-85km is possible with perfect weather and speed

    Does the car smoke in the winter when on electric mode or does that only happens when the car uses the engine instead?

      There's steam coming out from the exhaust only when a combustion engine is on and producing warm gases.

      @@jeppelarsen4002 they say it is because the peak horsepower is made at different points for each engine. For example the 160hp for the engine is made at around 5500rpm and at that point the electric motor makes only 68hp. Probably the 100hp of the electric motor is delivered when the engine is at lower rpm.

    Can the car regenerate based on the braking? If so how good is that.

    • @VToldsMotoShow
      @VToldsMotoShow  3 роки тому +2

      Yes, it does that but it doesn't generate as much energy then. I found for example Ford Kuga and Explorer to be able to get back much more energy and actually get more additional km on electric thanks to that than this CLA 250e. It would charge a bit but I got an impression that it's mostly about being charged externally.

      If you drive normal, not fully pushing all the time, while being in hybrid mode, it adds range but slowly (say 7- 10+ edit:'km' battery per 100 km driven on the road). One special experience I had in the alps. 25 minutes hill down break recovery and it fully filled my almost empty battery.

      Heres some info that might help you. Have a 250e and took it on a long journey 366km covering approx 220km of motorway the rest on primary roads. Started with full tank of petrol and charge at 65km. Drive totally in comfort mode. But set destination on satnav. Let the car work out when to use battery or petrol. Reahed destinatio with half tank petrol remaining and had used battery/electric for 125km out of the 366 travelled with 29 left on battery. very pleased with this result

      @@dimassiabdelhak8106Have car now for 21 months & have done 21000km on clock. Overall I am very happy with the car and have done 91% of my driving on electric. Main issue has been the flap for the electric plug not opening correctly so has been replaced twice by dealer under warranty & i am on the third one now. Also I have noticed that when you top up your petrol tank and for example do 50km using petrol engine that the petrol guage does not seem to go down as it shoul - I am going to raise this with the dealer before warranty expires. Ps a fried of mine is picking up a new CLa 250e in the next few days so I will be interested to see the changes compared to my own. I know it will not have the trackpad which I find really handy (see my comment on one of Nick's other videos which I got some positive reaction to). Good luck with your car.

    • @VToldsMotoShow
      @VToldsMotoShow  3 роки тому +2

      I believe that the petrol engine is never totally on its own. In my opinion, there's always some support from the electric one if you want to push the car more. There's a similar story with an electric one - if you push the accelerator so much that you press the "kickdown button" under it, then the petrol engine engages.
