Majority of players who hoisted 2011 world cup were given debut by ganguly. Bhajji, Zak, Yuvi, Dhoni, Nehra, Gambhir, Sehwag and the list goes on. He had the unique ability of spotting talents and backed them throughout his captaincy. Dada will forever be seen as the pioneer of modern era in indian cricket

This is one non-sense all Ganguly fan say, that he built team from ashes. Sachin, Dravid, Srinath, Kumble, Laxman and Ganguly were all groomed by Azhar, whom Ganguly utilized for success of team. Any captain will have mix and match of old talentrf players and newly harvested ones

The team was in tatters after the fixing saga, could never even fight properly let alone dominate in foreign lands. so the team was literally in ashes. after dada's captaincy, there was marked difference in the approach from the team. you can label me anything but in early 2000s, i have seen the whole indian cricket team change in front of my own eyes. ganguly would give up his opening slot to sehwag just because he believed in him. i could go on and on about dada's contribution but i dont want to waste any more of my energy in educating you.

But he backed the players and told them to give it back to the sledging Aussies...he brought the concept of an eye for an eye which changed the face of Indian cricket once and for all...there was a phase when his selected lot of Gambhir, Yuvraj, Harbhajan, Zaheer, Sehwag, Nehra etc werent performing and were to be thrown out...he fought with the board for them and threatened the board of resigning if he didnt have them in his team...the rest is history...he always had an eye for spotting game changers...it was him who picked Dhoni from a Ranji Match despite pressure to play Deep Das Gupta instead...it was him who also backed new youngsters like Pant...and look where they are...Thank you Dada for changing the face of Indian Cricket❤
