Absolutely I agree with you. I did this analysis with one of my cousins properties. He invested 6 lakhs after 18 years the value of that property is 1.8 crores. Same thing I have calculated with the axis Blue chip fund assuming if he has invested, when compared the value of 6 lakhs is around 5 crores
6 lakhs lumpsum amount with 12% return for 18 years would be 46 lakhs.... through the property he got 21% return.....I don't know how you got the calculation of 5 crores...then the return should be 28%.... I don't think bluechip fund gives 28%

There is a big disadvantage of stock market which you forgot to mention anna, when there are global tensions/ recessions/ pandemics the stocks and funds get extremely down for many years. If you want money all of a sudden at that point of time, due to medical emergency/ any other financial issues due to job loss at that point of time we will be trapped. Real estate value won't decrease that much and you can quit with minimal loss during recessions

I personally feel investing in Stock market is good than investing in real estate (atleast after having one house for our own living). In stock market, returns will be good if we develop some knowledge and market cycles, there is no place constraint to settle, good liquidity etc..

There is a big disadvantage of stock market which you forgot to mention anna, when there are global tensions/ recessions/ pandemics the stocks and funds get extremely down for many years. If you want money all of a sudden at that point of time, due to medical emergency/ any other financial issues due to job loss at that point of time we will be trapped. Real estate value won't decrease that much and you can quit with minimal loss during recessions
