I was at this game . Sean Hoppe scored from a classic intercept .Some Legends on both sides indeed. The crowd that day really got behind the Kiwis. Everyone was climbing into Australia , Lol :) .Buts thats Kiwi-Aussie'' rivalry for you, Great stuff indeed
The Kiwis definitely missed Matthew Ridge at fullback during this series and on their end of season tour of Great Britain and France. Morvin Edwards did an OK job and they had Halligan, Gavin Hill, Frano Botica for kicking, but Ridge was just that much better as a fullback. Unfortunately for Ridge, Manly and New Zealand, he suffered a season ending knee injury only a week before this game when Manly played Balmain and was forced to pull out of the series and the tour.
I thought that head hunting was made illegal in the 18th century. Some of the tackles from the Kiwi's was a disgrace with a few send off's should have been issued. The pommy ref's eyes must have been painted on.
Alfie really wasnt that great at international level...so much so Sticky replaced him after his poor show at wembley 1990...despite his great show against wigan previous week...
Ricky Stuart, replaced Langer in 1994 as well after Australia lost the first test. Ricky Stuart dominated him in State of Origin, winning 4 of the 5 series he played in.
Wasn’t that great but won 2 world cups. Went on 2 kangaroos tours, and played 23 tests all at halfback. Stuart on the other hand played 8 tests. Johns played 3 tests along side langer who had the 7. The reality is while he didn’t have the greatest test career, he was dropped twice and was still a mainstay of the Australian side for 11 years and if not for retiring would have played in 2002 when John’s was injured. The notion langer wasn’t great at test level because Stuart replaced him twice has the same credence New South Wales fans have when they claim Kenny was better than Lewis because he replaced him in 82. Yeah and for the other 30 tests of their career, Lewis was the choice over Kenny.

No wonder the ANZACS are legendary, imagine fighting all these blokes.
Great centre combo Dave Watson and Jarrod McCracken

00.30 is that a St. Helens fan in crowd?
brett todd hairstyle dam
Dang. Check out the crowd.
The biggest difference in the game was Mal Meninga who didn't play and Australia looked lost without him
Kevin Walters stating five eighth ahead of Daley and Fittler is comical.

Mr "spots on " Watson ; )
The 1st half was really exciting but for the 2nd half both teams just couldn't hold the ball
Mullets everywhere
Another dodgy referee

Agreed, Alf's always propping and stepping back inside stifling the back line flow.
rubbish!the bane of every international team.check his records.
