    Ugh I love how your wardrobe is so simple, you seem to mix and match so effortlessly, then add some pieces of jewelry and look so classy! This inspires me a lot to get my wardrobe sorted once and for all!!
    I would personally love a 'what i wore in a week' type of video in moonuary. :D

    i just want to say that i really appreciate that you are opening your eyes and trying to be more sustainable. after reading some comments i’m sad with how people are treating your fashion journey, but know that you should be proud that you are making an effort!! plus it is a journey and you only have to take steps where you can! thanks, that’s all!

    I'm just wondering, how many pieces in total do people have in capsule wardrobes? I just feel like Lucy has more items in her capsule wardrobe than I have in my non capsule wardrobe, and I buy the vast majority of my clothes from charity shops/ebay/depop and keep them for years haha

    • @TMcCarrick

    • @mazgraz
      @mazgraz 6 років тому +23

      @@TMcCarrick I kind of just don't get it, because if people have lots of clothes in a capsule wardrobe and buy new items every season it's not super sustainable

    • @TMcCarrick

      @@mazgraz I understand clothes needs to be replaced, wear and tear and all that but being sustainable is the core message, not replacing stuff every month, It wouldn't be as bad if stuff was thrifted/charity shop, but it's not.

    • @Ms888Red888
      @Ms888Red888 6 років тому +7

      I think what you’re forgetting is that capsule wardrobes are best for people who previously bought a LOT of clothes all the time- if you already have a small wardrobe then you’re already achieving the goal! In all that I’ve watched (theannaedit has some fab, realistic videos on capsule wardrobing) the goal with buying new stuff is that it mostly happens the first year to fill the holes (ex if hypothetically I used to have eight white sweaters, I got rid of seven of them to charity shops, now I feel like I would like one grey one to replace those eight white ones...). If you’re looking for someone who does the capsule but with mostly thrifted additions check out Kitty Cotten, great vids, adorable style and she’s super invested in being sustainable :-)

    Totally with you on the jeans front!! I want to invest in a good quality pair of jeans, and if those jeans cost £90, you really have to think about how many years you'll wear them for. Levi's are actually quite an ethical brand! They're very transparent on their website

    I’d definitely recommend getting the “Good on you” app. It gives brands ratings based on their ethical approach to labour, environment and animals. It’s an american app so sadly not all brands we’d found here are on there but I was really surprised to see that Everlane’s rating is actually very low!

    If you would Like To get some super sustainable jeans, you should check out mud jeans. They are quite expensive (120€), but they are fair trade, Made Out of bio-cotton and recyceled fabric. In addition, you can get 10€ or so off your order If you send them back an old pair of jeans, which they will use to recycle. Also the packaging is used multiple Times.
    I personally really Like the fit and how Long they Last.

    I absolutely love your videos, lucy. However i feel like sustainability and ethical branding is something you care to promote - in which case you should look more into the companies you are also supporting in this video - & other stories is a dirty company as well as Weekday. It's all a journey obviously but as consumers we have a huge responsibility to not simply satisfy with the easy and most attractive purchases. xxx

    •  6 років тому +16

      This is a fair point, but I'm pretty sure she's aware of this and has sort of addressed this in other videos - part of the problem being that she isn't made of money and thus can't quite yet afford to switch entirely to sustainable/ethical brands. (That's my memory, anyway.)

    I absolutely love how you and other people with a following have started to talk about sustainability and ethical choices - that alone is so important and not seen nearly enough, which is why I think it's really annoying that basically all the comments on this video are criticising Lucy for not being 100% perfect in these matters (leather, wearing a jumper once a year, ...). It's obviously impossible to make only completely ethical choices and I think we need to focus more on the good aspects of what Lucy is promoting, and maybe on the mistakes of people who are doing much worse than her
