I'm still learning Chopin's preludes 4 and 6. Even though they're Chopin's entry level pieces, I still struggle a bit sight reading them and my technique is pretty awful most of the time. I strive to advance into the Etudes and Nocturnes once I get past the preludes. Just like you, I too struggle at sight reading. I can read music, but sight reading is different. It's a whole different skill that requires a tremendous amount of effort for it to master. Even most professionals struggle when it comes to sightreading, so don't beat yourself up if you think you suck at it. Regardless, love your content. Please keep sharing your piano tips and tutorials. They're very helpful!
Thank you Julio! I agree, sight reading is it’s own skill that requires a lot of practice and I have not put in the time to do so. Thankfully I can still manage to learn music, albeit in my slow and clumsy way. Hope you’re having fun learning the preludes! They are such beautiful pieces and so satisfying to play.
@@StanleyDo Yes! The key to progressing is to have fun practicing! And it's also great to reward ourselves after accomplishing a challenging task. I wish you well on your practice, Stanley! P.S. I'm just curious, do you have a microphone or some kind of audio interface when recording the audio for your acoustic piano? Because it sounds so clear and pristine. : )
@@julioaltavas2257 Couldn’t agree with you more!! I use a Zoom H5 with the SSH-6 capsule attached to record my piano. It helps that the acoustics in the room aren’t bad as well!
