If I don't have a good banding wheel. Can I use the throwing wheel instead. Or is this cheating 🤔 haha . I was thinking after I build the mug to actually put it on the throwing wheel, centre it and start working on the rim and the body 😃
Try drying them very slowly and evenly. I cover mine with plastic and let them dry for 2-3 weeks that way. Also some clays are more prone to warping. You may want to try another clay.

Pool noodles cut in pieces work for supporting wet clay and even rolled up newspapers
