I honestly wish the Bluetti AC500 Delivered the way we wanted it to... not only did the unit fail DURING our testing... but it also just straight up doesn't make sense to purchase. The B300S battery from Bluetti has no real issues, and it's actually pretty cool! But both our AC300 and our AC500 are now paper weights, and before they were paper weights.. they were confusing to say the least. We are disappointed, and would love to see Bluetti redeem themselves in the future! Until then, We would recommend the Delta Pro or Delta Pro Ultra depending on what your needs are!

Bluetti's Big Outlet on the right side is 50A. Everyone but Everyone knows you Link that to another 50Amp AC500 Outlet with the Fusion Box to get 240v.
But thats a Magic 240 volts. BECAUSE its 240v at 50 Amps. Big RV's needs this 240v AT 50Amp. The Delta Pro Ultra 240 Outlet puts out ONLY 30Amp. EVERYONE should UNDERSTAND this.

@@TheSolarLab I don't work for EcoFlow or Bluetti. But you must Buy the Correct Unit that serves your Objective.
DPU with 5 batteries(30K wh) for Off Grid with 5.6kw solar is a PROBLEM. You would have to be Blind not to see that. TOU rates in California goes up to 83 cents a kwh. Off Grid for DPU + 5 BATERRIES will Cost a Fortune. To Recycle Daily with 5.6kw Solar. Disclaimer. I do have/own the DPU with one Battery. For Off Grid usage. Along with my AC300. The DPU I wanted for high Watts Surge Off Grid usage.

The Confusion box only does 240 volts at 30 amps. Plus, the AC500 units cannot operate as UPS in split phase mode. These things are utter garbage!
Bluetti doesn’t tell you that you DO NOT need the confusion box in order to get split phase 240v, but will be happy to take your $300 for this glorified junction box. You only need the communication cable. Shady company and shitty products.

Been Running my AC300 with 4 B300 Batteries(12,266 kwh) EVERYDAY 24/7 for over a year. Feeding near 6KW Solar total. DC1 + DC2 as 2700w Solar. And near 880w Solar into each B300. As 3520w Solar into the B300's. Thus Im about 6.2KW into my Complete AC300 system.
All this Runs Fine 24/7 for the Last 13 months.
Im only using extension outlet cables. Nothing ties into our Home Electrical Panel.

@Moes_Prep_and_Tech That's 6kw Solar. Imagine if that was on the Roof. With micro Inverters and all.
How many wires would travel to the combiner box.
Love is 8x 400w panels serial array.
Have two such serial Arrays. THAT would match my 6kw+ solar. That would lessen the Wire's count.
I have to think. California. TOU rate
here goes up to 83 cents per kwh.
What's the best way to bite the bullet?

    AC500 with its 6 B300s
allows 9KW Solar. Thats 9000 watts Solar recharging 18Kwh battery storage. Delta Pro Ultra allows 5.6kw solar to recharge 18Kwh battery storage. Sad Silly is Delta Pro Ultra can only recharge its Full Stack of 5 Batteries(30,000 Kwh) with 5.6K Solar. Solar Peoples knows that in general THAT___ Total Solar KW's should be HALF of Total Battery Storage. Delta Pro Ultra at Full Stack Batteries 30Kwh can only recharge with 5.6Kw Solar. It needs 15Kw Solar for Daily Recycling.

I have been running an AC500 for about 15 months without any major issues. I have heard of other people with the screen issue, but I have not personally experienced it. Keep in mind that I have the Australian version so the 240V gripe doesn't apply. I agree that AC and DC outputs not turning back on after some errors is an issue, but this has only happened a couple of times over the 15 month period. You also have more than 3000W solar input as the battery can also be charged with 500W of solar through the battery itself. The battery capacity is also much larger than some other brands with up to 16kwh.

  • @larrywong7834

Nice. Delta Pro Ultra. Thanks for pointing out its 240v Outlet. It can run some central Air Conditioners. Which can draw 4600 watts every hour. Interesting is the DPU takes in 5600w Solar at Maximum Sun Intensity upon the Solar Arrays. The Delta Pro Inverter is about 85% efficient. 85% x DPU's 5600 watt is 4760w.
Thus the DPU can maybe run the AC for about an hour. With nothing left to charge the DPU's batteries. You need about 11.2Kw Solar
to keep the AC running while still charging the DPU batteries. The stored energy is used to run the AC after the Sun Intensity lessens. Delta Pro Ultra's solar input of 5.6kw limitation is Sad Silly.

Thanks for your review, but just a little feedback in defence of the Bluetti: I have 240V on my EU version of the AC500, so it's possible in certain versions to have 240V. To recommend an ecoflow of 4 years old, the reason I went for the Bluetti is the number of cycles the batteries can have. Ecoflow has around 800 and Bluetti around 3000 cycles before degradation. Further, I've had no problems with it whatsoever, it's just working right now in my home. Then the last one: the cables to the batteries, yeah it could be better, but it absolutely no dealbreaker. It stands in the garage in a corner. Just my 2 cents. I really can imagine that everyone has some confirmation bias. (I do and you probably do too 😀)

    • @Trillville43

They use the same batteries and you have 240V because that's your default in Europe in the US it's 120V and 240v is for home like dryers, ovens, and water heater etc...

What difference if we recharge the battery from grid at 230V 3A vs. 230V 13A, from technical point of view? May I expect the loss of battery charge /internal usage to be reduced more with grid connection in stand-by (no recharge) in either 3A or 13A, always from technical point of view?

I bought a Bluetti AC70 for a specific application (4/2024). They are knowingly selling units with wiring issues - hot and neutral are reversed when plugged in. They refused to replace unit because they confirmed all of the units have the wiring issue. If you have one I recommend you get a receptacle tester and with the unit plugged into run the test. You are due a full refund if you own of these. It does not show the issue when the unit is not plugged in. Nothing inspires confidence in a power company than releasing and knowingly selling products with incorrect wiring.

When you do the review of the EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra can you test the ability to have a 120 volt input (front panel) while still having 240 volt output via the front panel. My understanding is that this is possible but if you take 240 out of the input/output on the side which is meant to be connected to SHP2 then it cannot accept 120 volt input while outputing 240 volts. Here is my application. I have an Ioniq5 with Vehicle to Load capability of 120 volts up to 1,900 watts. In major emergencies or long time lack of sunlight, etc., I would like to be able to power my house at night when the average load is a few hundred watts. I was also thinking that this could be used to charge up the Ultra battery at night while the Ultra was still powering the house. This would allow me to at times use the micro wave, etc and use more wattage than the car could supply. Given the 77kwh battery in the car (about 60kwh available for VTL) this could help power my house for many days in a major emergency I hope this made some sense. thanks in advance

Yes. Great Unit. Your AC500. DC1 + DC2 solar totals 3kw. Each Battery capable to accept 1kw solar. A 6 battery stack allows 6kw Solar. Thus with the AC500 the Total Solar is 9kw in solar panels. The Delta Pro Ultra unit only accepts 5.6kw.

I have an AC300 and it needed to be replaced. (Long store) The replacement unit “blowup”… it was brand new… It started smoking and making a “popping” sound… I honestly thought my life was in danger from the heavy smoke and electrical sounds. Ain’t gonna lie, I was kinda scared it was going to blowup and take me out. I quickly disconnected the batteries and ran away from it. No solar cables were plugged in btw.. The unit I have now seem to be working but I told them to test that shat before sending out another replacement unit. I really thought there product was good but I’m no longer a fan.. wish I had the money to switch to the new Delta Ultra pro.. the big cables do take up extra space too. I have all of this documented for replacement purposes.. So, 3 unit, 2000$, 6 months later..and I’m finally in good shape not the best experience though.

Nice thing is Bluetti has tons of low cost B300 refurbished batteries making it a good cheap option.

Why I build my own. I want to be able to replace a component if it fails, and I want to spec the components for my situation. I've run a Rigid table saw from a 2k Roarbatt inverter, with 12v 100ah Powerqueen Battery. That's like $500 in equipment that I have stored in a Ryobi Link rolling toolbox. We're mobilizing our EG4 6000ex, hybrid inverter, which does solar charging/and split-phase 120/240 and has four powerqueen 12v 200ah batts, wired in series for 48v, and a subpanel that has 120/240 splitphase. DIY It. That was less than $3k, and can run an EV charger. We're putting it into an overlanding trailer.

Brian M. gave me these INSIGHTS. "a dedicated home backup can be done DIY cheaper, but by the time you buy all the little components, breakers, etc. to get this depth of functionality and portability and then add the "smart" features, I think you'd be hard pressed to show much of difference. And that's considering the home owner knows how to do it all and has the tools, etc. There are some great units out there these days, but this is a very compelling setup. I put in a 6000W growatt 2 years ago with 10Kwh of EG4 batteries for about the same cost as the starter kit with the $1000 off code and free shipping."

My Bluetti worksedwell until it didn't. You can't contact tech support by phone. They're in China and you only communicate via email. I've been trying to get my problem solved for over a week and they constantly ask for more evidence or more info. They also appear to constantly scrub any criticism or whiff of problems with their products that exist online. Don't take my word for it- look yourself. I live near Plano, TX. They have a service center there but you can't find a phone number for it anywhere- any search only takes you to the customer service number in Vegas, which is not tech support. They admitted that they have no one to talk to, and they are all in china.
