It looks like it would be, just can't beat that arcade cabinet feel. Even if a game is ported "flawlessly" to consoles or PC it's still just not the same. When i was younger a cousin of mine somehow ended up with an old Double Dragon arcade cabinet and for whatever reason it could only run the first two levels of the game and even though we collectively had all the Double Dragon games that had been released at the time we still played those 2 levels Way more on the cabinet than any of the console games, and this was after PS2 had come out so there were plenty of other options for NES, SNES and so on. One of these days i would like to get one of those cabinets with all the different games\emulators on it. It's probably the closest i'd get to owning a legit arcade. 🤞😄👍
@@deathsnitemaresinfullust2269 yes there's nothing like a real cabinet even if it's running emulators. The controls just feel better and it feels authentic. Making your own isn't too difficult or expensive either, just depends on how much work you feel like putting into it. I've built 6 myself so far.

Man i really can't believe i haven't thought of doing that before, i'm always modifying stuff to fit my needs or looking for something to build myself at home.😅🤔 😐There's So Many ideas in my head right now for what it could be, maybe a raised two person bench to go along with it, Or build it to accommodate the height of my most comfortable chair? Oh, a base that i can adjust by stacking or removing sections to accommodate whatever. Wow, thanks for mentioning that i'm almost certainly going to do something and have my own cabinet now. 😄👍
I loved the fighting system. Very unique combos and tag team. The last boss is one of the most difficult in the history of SNK. I played Alice a lot because of her easy infinite combo

Guys from Evoga challenged some of the SNK staff to some play of KOF when they were there visiting the Evoga office, betting that if the Evoga side would win, SNK would put in an original character from Evoga in the next KOF game. SNK were like sure, no problem. Legend says they stomped the SNK staff playing that KOF. Deals a deal. Thats where Angel came from, named after the dude who gave em a huge whipping on KOF.

Power Instinct/Gōketsuji is one of the (if not the) weirdest fighting game series. Also there's a character based on real world wrestler Reggie Bennet so that seems right up THGM's alley. There's a special place in my heart for 'My Small Happines' especially with Urami Masuyo in the background singing the song.
Great video! I see no one has mentioned the AMAZING jumping Backfist move "Bimmy" is executing throughout most of the clips from the Neo Geo fighting game. (start at 3:14). I know the Dragon Punch is probably the most iconic fighting game move ever... But that jumping back fist has some SERIOUS attitude. That move needs to be reanimated and put into a modern fighting game! 🤣

Please do that video on the Power Instinct (Gouketsuji Ichizoku) franchise. It was a long running fighting game franchise that spanned atleast 4 different console generations. It never gets the recognition and love it deserves.

Back in the day, I really wanted this to be big in the arcades, and while it had some players, it didn't take off, or stick around long enough (as in, wasn't making arcade owners money), especially during the aftermath of KOF2000 and long before SF4. It was pretty well polished - I didn't know the devs were mexican, shout outs to latino america for the passion.
Rage of the Dragon is a great Fighting Game, graphics are great, animation is fuild, sound is great, and the gameplay is awesome, simple to pick not to hard to master, with unique gimmicks, it's kind of a hidden gem imo. Thx for covering it.

Power Instinct is an Atlus series, so it's not surprising they would publish a Power Instinct game. If you're going to do Matrimelee I'd say do the entire series, but I don't think anyone ever remembers that series so it might not be worth it.
I'd like a new game with characters from Double Dragon Neo Geo AND Rage of the Dragons together. Especially Rebecca and Pepe, I'd love to have a match with them.
The story ends with the second game as far as i am concerned. The GBA Double Dragon was the greatest effort since the second. The rest went through too many changes to the point where it was pretty much unrecognizable.

I got this game for the MVS and is one of the BEST games for double dragon that is NOT double dragon. Just be prepared for a punishingly difficult game and last boss.
I've played the mame rom version of the game. It was nice, the tag team combinations were nice, it reminded me of Double Dragons mixed with Rival Schools.
Honestly i was pretty skeptical about this game. Then many years later i wounded up liking this game. The Character Select roster theme was what really got me to play this and honestly i LOVE this game! I love the references it has to the Double Dragon IP and how i pays homage to he series. You forgot to mention that a company named Piko Interactive acquired this game last year too so maybe there is a chance we could get something out of Rage of the Dragons after all. But that might be me being the wishful thinker i am.
For real, Piko Interactive got it? I've heard of them before, they're the kind of outfit that snaps up old unused IP's to rerelease them. The rerelases are often kinda on the cheap and quick side, they definitely prioritize quantity over quality, but to my knowledge they've never released something like, super-buggy or broken. So at the very least, them having it probably means we'll get a servocable port sometimes- no bells and whistles, but it'll at least be SOMETHING.
Some of the games he is showing they should really bring back and make it a two in one game walk-along beat them up also mixed with versus mode wow that's the way the original Double Dragon was

Rage of the Dragons and Mark of the Wolves are the Rivals for the Best Graphics in a Neo Geo Game IMO.
Rage of the Dragons characters are a must have selection for any decent MUGEN game.
