I love how calm and professional your rehousings are. Some tarantula youtubers seem really nervous or even wear a full set of proctetive gear during a rehouse 🙈your videos show that you really know what you are doing 😊👍
This is two years old to you but new to me. What an absolutely gorgeous spider, I think even more beautifully elegant than the showy ones with blue. Her babies looked black when they were milling around their sac in the enclosure with their mother but much lighter and fuzzier against the dark soil in their nursery. They seemed healthy and full of energy. So funny when Camera Lady was nodding yes about spending all afternoon catching babies from the first sac.
I do love the way you are slow and gentle with the mama I know rehousing can be stressful if not done right. I would think catching all of the babies is a chore in itself. Its great we have so many species to choose from to add to our collections.
Super job Dave removing that sac and you can see the reasoning behind moving it the way you did. And that H. Maculata she looked absolutely stunning. Credit to you Dave and camera lady for giving us great views of your spiders.
Hope you still have mum, shes a proper Lady, very gentle and no problem Moving her from her babies,to her new Home, she is a looker!! Plenty of babies to sort threw!! Cheers🥂🥂
Wow what a great vid Dave! I watch them in bed great way to start my day...compared to some of the other spider channels you rarely have any spiders with attitude keep it up thanks
I have one of these! Still a juvenile though so it's just a little brown fuzzy thing. Comes out at night. Sometimes, when I'm walking to the kitchen or bathroom in the middle of the night, I'll catch a glimpse of it.
Your mantra definitely applies in this situation. I'm actually surprised the female didn't fight back to protect her babies. Once she was in her new enclosure, it was like she completely forgot about them. Absolutely stunning spider, no one in their right mind would disagree with that ! I wouldn't mind raising some Ts that I would eventually breed myself. However, I would definitely choose something with much less potent venom. In my mind at first is Tiltocatl albopilosus, since they seem to breed to readily in captivity. And who wouldn't want a floofy T ? Another I would consider and would be a bit more challenging (to get a viable egg sac) would be Grammostola porteri, which absolutely needs to be bred more into the hobby now that Chile has cut off their exports since a few years ago. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)
so very cute babies and i'm not suprise mum is well behave i don't know if you have one that is not lol i had this picture in my head of the egg sac bursting open and the babs making a mad dash to get away ha ha ha ...my dad used to say when chasing us kids around ''ruuuuunnnn forrrrr yourrrrrrrrr liiiiiiiives mouah ha ha ha '' thnaks nice vid ..
@@daveslittlebeasties UK only, what if i'd throw in the shipping cost when i can make the move to purchase the necessary things to buy one from you, like my own residence...my mama is scared of T"s
Nicely done with the transitioning of the eggsac and the Mother. She seemed to be ''Well fine'' and moved on. Sadly cause of my location, and the financial situation I will not be able to get some of your H-macs. I have a question for anyone reading. I have two psalmopoeus irminias in sling stage. They dug a nice burrow and one of them spinned a nice dirt curtain. They recently have been hiding a lot. Should I still give them something to eat while they hide? of course I would just go for it if they would be waiting at the mouth of their burrows. But I assume they dug deep and just sit there.
Just try them with small meals if its still there 24hrs later remove it and leave them for a week and try again , they normally seal the entrance when wanting to moult .
@@daveslittlebeasties Hey Dave, thank you a lot for the response. Actually not even a minute later when I asked, I saw their feet at the entrance of their burrows, so I just threw prey in and that was it. Thanks!
Hello Dave! Oh my gosh they are so cute and fuzzy. When I was younger I used watch spiderlings hatch and throw out a silk and "parachute" off into the sky. Riding on a breeze. Congrats. Too bad I live in the USA and I do not think you can ship from there to here. You and your lovely camera lady stay safe.
spiders freak me the hell out but tarantulas fascinate me and for some reason don't bug me out. I think they are so beautiful. What is the difference between letting them hatchet inside with the mom and grabbing the sac before they do? Will she eat them?
Sometimes females have been known to eat the sack at the last moment , but mostly its easier to remove the sack than to try and catch 200+ slings in the enclosure , much safer for the slings 👍
So well behaved!! I’ve never seen such a smooth egg sac removal from an Old World. I hope Camera Lady caught on video any babies that may have scampered off the tray 😂 Are you ever worried about the toddlers biting you? Are they potent at that stage?
I have learnt so much from you Dave. These slings have caught you early twice now, it seems their gestation period is not as long as other slings🤔🕷. They are so very cute Dave, how many were there in the end?
If I could happen upon a beautiful lady like that I'd grab er in a heartbeat, Lmbo. H mac's as u said, don't always have that docile attitude that yours has. She's a true beauty Dave and sucha good mama😊. Tyfs God bless you
Very calm H maculata. When i bred mine, she was pretty defenssive when i took her eggsack. Normally she was shy, but when disturbed she was defenssive. Good video! Lovely speicies. My favourite arboreal together with S calceatum. I can give a tip. Uf the corkbark is full of small holes where slings can be hiding. Soak it in tepped water and if there are slings hiding they will emideatly pop out and float up!
Dave, is it strictly instinct that she protects her egg sac or babies? I'd like to think that there's a bit of a maternal instinct, too. She is a beautiful spider! What do you do with all the babies? They are adorable.
Another fun video. Do you have a recommendation for a first time old world species? I have 7 new world from slings to adults and have been keeping for a little over a year. I've already had a couple escape and recoveries while feeding with tongs. I have stopped trying to feed with tongs because they love to run up the tongs onto my hand. Had one escape because I improperly secured the lid to enclosure. All tarantulas were caught up without injury to myself or the T's. Pheew! They really are able to teleport in a blink. Also, should I start with a sling or juvenile. Thanks.
I finally subscribed as i realized i wasn't subscribed but have been binge watching your videos. i'm about to get a job so if at some point i move into my own place i'll ask you if you sell T's and everything i need.
Question. Is it possible that a female pink toe tarantula can have a 2nd egg sack if babies have hatched out of an original egg sack. I have 55 slings so far & still counting. These are my 1st babies. The egg sack looked all new & white. I separated it to see if anymore slings come out of it, but nothing yet. I had gently squeezed the egg sack to see if I could feel anything, but I didn't. It felt deflated, but I did put it back in another container, for the time being, just in case. Then I noticed the eggsack puffed back up to its round, full looking eggsack. Please let me know. Thank you. : )
I would love one of these but I'm debating if I'm experienced enough with tarantulas yet. I only have a T Albopilosum who is very shy so no experience with old world's or arborials.... They are so pretty though 😍
