Munich Way of St. James, stage 10 Steingaden - Auerberg

On October 20th, 2023 I take a Flixbus from the central bus station at Hackerbrücke in Munich directly to Steingaden.
Today it will go from Steingaden via Lechbruck to Auerberg, a distance of 16.7 km according to Mapy.cz.
After a small snack in Lux's Cafe, I visit the Welfenmünster and get two pilgrim stamps there. I walk out of town past the town hall on the King Ludwig Way, which also coincides with the Way of St. James.
On the way I pass a house with the Israeli flag. #standwithisrael
I take a short break on a König Ludwig bench before continuing on to Urspring. There I meet the granddaughter of the last wheelwright in front of a former wheelwright's workshop, a kind of carriage workshop. She works at the tourist office and tells me that I missed the park at the Welfenmünster and that there is a secret pilgrim temple at the Church of Mary Magdalene. After I got this, I continued via Steingädele and a wildly romantic moor to Prem.
In the Lechaue I arrive at the inn 10 minutes late and then have a long snack on a small bridge.
We continue along the Lechstausee to Lechbruck. There I treat myself to a “lunch” around 4 p.m. before setting off to Auerberg in the rain. I arrive in Bernbeuren around 7 p.m. and walk 4.2 km in the dark to my accommodation on the Auerberg.
At the end of the day I needed about 8 km more than planned due to the detour to the Lech reservoir and I came to a total of 24 km, for which I ran 8:39 hours. I move into my room, do my laundry and hang everything out to dry.
The trekking umbrella that I clipped to my backpack during the rain really paid off today!
