Nice. Seemed to handle the grass well considering the smallish looking wheels.

Nice flying man! I think we all have our childhood fav GA planes. For me it is the Cub. The 182's are great though. I flew several Cessna's when I was training full scale with my brother...152, 172, and even a 177 Cardinal, but never a 182. From what I hear it is basically what a 172 should be. 😄 That FMS is a nice example of a 182.

Thanks man. I also love Cub planes but I discovered these much later. I wish E-Flite would make a 1.2m Cessna and I bet it would be sweet.

New to your channel and I also like the 182 as the best civilian RC model.

It is such a classic and so beautiful in the air.

Did you swap out the stock ESC in order to use the 4s battery? I tried a 4S in my SkyTrainer and the ESC cut power after about 15 seconds at full throttle. Regarding the tires, I swapped the stock wheels out for DU-BRO low bounce 2.0in (main gear) and 1.75in (nose gear) and am very happy with the results. Taxiing and landing is much nicer on hard surfaces. There is a bit of a weight penalty, though. Wish I could fly it as well as you do, though! Something to aspire to...

@@rgsvidz Yes I put an avian ESC inside as I do on most of my planes. Dubro wheels are really nice but as you said also heavy unless you go for the light weight ones.

@@SunriseRCAviator I did the Avian ESC upgrade and wholeheartedly agree with you about how this plane flys on a 4S pack (2200mAh) - it is really sweet! In my humble opinion, anyone who owns this plane should upgrade it with an Avian ESC, a metal-geared rudder/nosegear servo, and the Du-Bro tires. I feel those mods turn it from a good plane to a great scale flyer - it sure looks nice in the air!
Unfortunately, this airframe does have a bad design flaw... the wing spar is very short, and pilots should avoid doing any moderate-to-high-G maneuvers with it. While pulling out of a moderate speed (1/2 throttle) gentle loop on my plane, the left wingtip just snapped off resulting in a catastrophic crash. 😔 I guess maybe it's time to look into the new FMS 1.5M Cessna 182, which seems to address most of the issues I had with this plane (with the exception of the crappy wheels and plastic-geared servos).
P.S. I also have an Arrows Bigfoot, and I concur with you that it's a great no-drama bush plane! I just upgraded that to an Avian ESC as well, so I guess I'll try that 4S pack in that too.

@@rgsvidz The short wing spare is an issue and that's why I put in one addition longer spare on mine. I also have my eyes on the new larger Cessna but I'd rather have a 1.3 lighter one and honestly I do enjoy the "150" Bigfoot more and that is a fantastic plane!
