    How do you upgrade to get full map navigation? I had it in my 2017 Silverado, and I miss it.
    I also miss the feature that shows you the speed limit where you're driving. Is there a way to get this on my 19 LT Trail Boss too?

    I know Andre said that the infotainment systems were "fast", but in my eyes, the speed and looks of them look like they are at least 5+ years old. I have a 2013 RAM and a 2018 Wrangler with Uconnect and they are light years ahead of this garbage. When I press a button, it is truly instantaneous and intuitive. The 2013 RAM still feels like a "new" system. I am really glad that Andre showed us his attempted Onstar call so that we could make our own judgements about its usefulness. GM seems to be magnitudes behind FCA and Ford in infotainment and general interior looks.

    • @Valkrider98
      @Valkrider98 5 років тому +4

      I have both a GM vehicle and a Ram truck. The Uconnect system is by far the better system. One of the biggest difference with the Uconnect is the row of touch icons that stay active at all times. It allows you to get to any function with one touch. My Link requires too much "back" or "home" navigating to get you where you want to be. It's very inefficient and requires too much eye attention while driving.

    • @pajamatime5750
      @pajamatime5750 5 років тому +4

      I agree. The uconnect in Ram trucks has been good for a while.... 2013 was better then the 2019 chev haha.... Since 2016, ford sync has been very good as well.... Both Ford and Ram are far ahead of Chevrolet in this department....

    With the availability of Apple CarPlay in both the old and new versions of MyLink it doesn’t truly matter to me what OEM features exist since my smartphone is on screen 99% of the time. Only plus for me in the new version is size and resolution of the screen.

    I'd really like to see how all these new systems and the vehicles physical design features like mixed metals, effect the vehicles performance while plowing snow. Theres always so much effort from manufacturers and reviews showing how a vehicle can be used for your business or leisure while pulling and hauling a load but not much is covered on pushing a load.
    Will this infotaintmen system call the cops for a crash if you actually hit a pile of snow to stack it with a V plow?
    Will these mixed metals cause the overall vehicle to be more or less durable when plowing.
    Would the mounts for a plow interfere with the skid plates on a trail boss or AT4. Can the new off road suspension handle the added weight of having a plow on front and counter balance in the bed.
    In summary I want to know which trim level of these truck can be considered the perfect balance between having a luxurious interior for being comfortable in for long periods of time as well as being able to use the truck for work to make money, and to have fun with the truck doing modest off roading and over landing?

    I have a new Blazer. I paired my smartphone via Bluetooth to My Link.. However, when I press the voice recognition button, the DIC flashes my phone's name and says to listen for my phone response. The VR system bypasses the "How can I help you" message so I can't ask My Link to do anything via voice. The DIC message disappears in 5 seconds. Instead of getting an audio prompt from my phone, the phone asks "What would like to use to complete the action" message and shows a Google and Bixby option. If I press the Google icon, Google Assistant pops open with a microphone icon. When I then speak into my phone to change the radio station, it prompts me to download a $10 app to do that. The IT specialist with the dealer and I expect this is a software bug and has forwarded my feedback to the GM Technical Center for troubleshooting. I assume my problem is not a one off, but is impacting the fleet and that GM will have a soft recall where a software patch or an entire update can be downloaded at a GM dealer. Perhaps other viewers of your channel have some idea what may be the problem is. I've read that infotainment systems from most automakers are prone to glitches. However, outside of this problem, I'm more impressed with the Blazer now than I did before I bought it. I get compliments, questions, and stares from people everyday about it And, most are amazed the exterior and interior designs good looks.

    50k + and no standard NAV, buying a Rebel. Seems like Chevy and Ford decided not to show up this yr. Silverados are naturally low so adding a lift I mean spacers/leveling kit actually brings it up to the same size as the Titan Pro4 x and rebel.

      That's because they're co8nting on ppl to connect their phones for navigation. I personally hate using the Android/Apple connect feature. I life full offline maps so I can navigate anytime I want especially without running down my phone battery or if I'm in an area where my phone has no signal.

    I think it’s a definite miss that you couldn’t connect right away with onstar. GM touts that system and how you speak with an actual person to help you out, but I never use it because of Apple CarPlay. Siri is always there with no hold time. It looks bad that they didn’t connect with you in just a minute or so.

    Seems like an incremental upgrade if anything. I didn't have any gripes with the old system either, so it's fine. That said I'm just not really into factory infotainment systems and the way they chain you to features you didn't really want.
    In a perfect world I could get a basic center stack with heated seats and climate control and all that shit and just swap out the head unit for something I preferred. Well, I say that like that wasn't the world we lived in not too long ago.

    Soooo...I needed Onstar in an actual emergency and they never picked up. Later after helping a man on a motorcycle who crashed badly I tried again...they answered and said sorry and offered me a discount on future plans....what good is a damn discount in life or death. I canceled them on the spot.
    When it comes to interface I have had vehicles with Sync, my Lynk and UConnect and to be honest uconnect destroyed the others.

    It looks like some of you have forgotten the nightmare GM garbage from the 2000s. The stereos and onstar had voice recognition if you will. There was no display or paper map to guide you through the voice prompt. Sure hope you have pitch perfect pronunciation otherwise the system will understand. This new system in it's worst form is light years ahead. Now someone pass around the tissues.

    I would strongly recommend NOT buying a Chevy with this Infotainment 3 system. Full of bugs IMO, android auto fails to connect 50% of the time, blue tooth fails to auto-connect constantly. Navigation voice search fails to find your destination on the first try 75% so far. Seriously, after 5 months, I'm considering trading in to get away from this garbage system. Chevy has failed us on this one.

  • @almangrant7358
    @almangrant7358 5 років тому

    The main problem with these newer infotainment systems is hardware configuration for Wi-Fi. When you turn the key and the electronics power up so does the wi-fi unit and it begins pumping out RF even if you arent connected or the menu option "off" is selected. For individuals who have Electro- Hypersensitivity this is bad news. Not everyone wants to have a freakin microwave oven always on in their dash. In Sweden Hyper- Eletrosensitivity is officially recognized as a medical condition not a mental paranoid delusion. The point is have true power off functionality for the wi-fi unit by using a relay , circuitry design and software interface. As a contractor I can apreciate the "convieniance of 4g or 5glte but as an ELS individual not having true control over the apparatus in my personal environment bothers me. Im not worried about 15 or 20 minutes of exposure to Wi-Fi, but chronic all day exposure literally gives me a headache.
