Half-agree. I Prefer Justice vocals for the extra aggression, but He has so much vocal control in the Black Album, you can hear it in Roam and Unforgiven and even in live versions of Sanitarium in 92 vs 89. His control gets even better in 1999, but his aggression was peak in 89. Black album is a perfect mixture of both.
never seen such a talented singer, guitar player and creative song writer all at once... Jesus christ man he won the genetic lottery thats for damn sure
This take sounds better than the final cut actually 😮. The first couple of seconds the power in his voice is so raw he sounds like roaring mad dog, thare's that extra bit of distortion that would have made the song much more powerfull, more metal, raw, I can't explain kt but he should've kept that
They should remaster the Justice album with proper mixing. I think having a skyscraper ego/grief after the loss of a friend shouldn't mean fucking up an album.
Rock would’ve probably made them change the sound a bit. Instead of the raw aggression that AJFA had, it would’ve been just an earlier Black Album. I love Black Album but it sure as hell didn’t compare to AJFA in terms of speed, aggression, and complexity

Yeah, you can cancel the instrumental bleed by taking one take with and one without vocals and then inverting the phase on the no vocals take and combining them. That way it cancels everything that is the same in both tracks and leaves anything that was different behind.

This one sounds so similar to the album that I'd dare to say they just recorded over the "woman" with "yeah!"
Listen to donington 1991... only reason why he's never perfect live is because he has so much strain and damage on his vocal chords
It's almost like they took what he was doing here and used it on the album or something.

Personally I’d say Justice, but Black Album is a close second to me.
Well he did learn how to sing for this album
Fun Fact: Metallica with *Hetfield and Mustaine* searched for a singer in 1983
They were looking for a new singer up until 86 actually

With his arm twitches, it seems like he's so used to doing live showed it almost seems like he's about to start playing air guitar
Haha and his guitar is adjusted very low so his hands are basically in position here
He can't do it w/o his guitar sometimes
@Ram it's understandable, you can feel the beat way more intuitively if you're playing along.
If you see the videos of him recoding the last album he actually sings with the guitar in his hands while playing with no amp
When he sang unforgiven 3 at s&m2 with just the symphony he did air guitar
