It’d be great to hear Doug’s opinion on the term “Judeo-Christian” in the context of American values and culture.
It seems to be an unnecessary prefix
Would the founders have accepted that as an accurate term for the nation?

I heard someone postulate that the reason Jonah didn't want to preach to Nineveh was not simply because he didn't want them to repent and be forgiven. It was because he knew that God was planning on using them (Assyria) to judge Israel, and if he preached to them and they repented and were forgiven (rather than judged themselves), they'd still be around to be able to do just that. What are you thoughts. I tried to find a possible proof text for how Jonah could know that, and what I found was 2 Kings 17:23. Thoughts?

@@CanonPress Great article. The point being made in the article is a little different than the one I mentioned. That is, Jonah thinking "There's not enough grace to go around" is a little different than "God IS going to use Assyria to judge Israel, unless (according to Jonah's reasoning) Assyria is judged first." The former assumes God has a shortage of grace. The latter assumes God means what He says about using Assyria to judge Israel (unless there is divine intervention).
Second Kings 17:23, (which I didn't see in the article) says, "until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had spoken by all his servants the prophets. So Israel was exiled from their own land to Assyria until this day." It seems to suggest that Jonah (one of the prophets) knew God was going to use Assyria to judge Israel. And so naturally he opposed the idea of Assyria being around to do it.
But there is some commonality between the two points being made. In both instances, Jonah wrongfully assumes that grace being shown to Israel is off the table.
I'll have to think about it a little more. But I thoroughly enjoyed the article. A lot of great points made.

It pains me to see how this guy uses the term Jew as a blanket term for all 12 tribes of Israel. Totally incorrect. The Jews were the two tribed southern kingdom only.
The Gentiles… Or more properly translated nations...were, In the context he’s speaking about in this video, the 10 tribed northern house of Israel Who were scattered abroad.

Men with reading lists are more common, especially if they want to honor the Lord and not take on debt with interest. Giving advice to the independently wealthy seminary graduate should not take first place in any of these discussions. There are more truly gifted men who aren't wealthy and don't enter seminary, but they aren't being recognized as much because they don't have that degree. In some ways, these expensive seminaries and their cultural by-products are judgments of God for lazy believers. Btw, "Christian Lenders" don't really exist, because lending with interest is unbiblical. I didn't plan to rant, and that's just a warm-up. :)

"Independently wealthy" is NOT the majority.
