This reached number 3 in the UK charts, it was Mutyas daughter int the video too. This was her lost song with the group she left after this, so welcome to the Amelle era lol 😂
@@Werdnasings you’ve already reviewed ‘red dress’ which was the best single and first one with Amelle, so the next one for you is ‘follow me home’ ….. good luck lol 😂
@@jamesward8041 I was speaking for myself 🤔 I don’t hate the other girls, I think they’re all quiet good, especially Jade, just don’t think Sugababes was really Sugababes anymore after Mutya left. That said Denial is one of my favourite songs
@@Werdnasings Denial is one of my favourite Sugababes songs but 3.0 just wasn’t for me 🫣 ‘No Can Do’ has to be the worst songs ever 😐 all the girls that have been in Sugababes are talented but I don’t think you can beat 2.0 😁

Sugababes have some great songs. They did a song called No regrets, but it was never released, but the videos are on UA-cam. Both versions are amazing. Other great songs are Wait for you, No more you and Love in stereo (Bananarama recorded it for their last album) 👌
I wasn't a big fan of this song initially but I grew to love it. Shame this is Mutya's last single, she never looked more beautiful than she did in this video. Dallas Austin wrote this song after seeing a magazine in the studio where (surprise surprise) Mutya was being dragged for her looks and what she was wearing, having then spoken to her and Keisha about things the press said about them, and thus this song was born. This is where Sugababes stop for me, she left and took the edge with her and apart from Red Dress (she was originally on it), About You Now, and Girls get ready for the inconsistent babes, hit (Red Ress) flop (Follow Me Home) flop (Easy) hit (About You Now) flop (Change), flop (Denial), hit (Girls), flop (No Can Do)....then top 10s but not not hits (Get sexy, About a Girl, Wear My Kiss). Horrid cheap looking matching outfits, where they either look like bank tellers, workers at a Disney land or going to some business meeting in an office, bland music, VERY ropey live singing (poor Keisha now has 2 duds to deal with, only so much she can do) oh and that awful soulless basic vocalist replacement Amelle, big ego with minimal talent the true downfall of Sugababes, yeah good luck with her vocals especially live (earplugs at the ready) 🤣🤣🤣.
I feel like this song sounds better now it's aged and it has a great message. Wasn't a big fan when it came out, mainly because many of the album tracks we're so good. They could've easily released more songs. Cant wait for the next sugababes reaction to red dress 😁
I can totally see how during the release of this and the era of music at that time it wasn’t deemed one of their “best” but hopefully people can see the “legacy” in this type of song
@@Werdnasings favourite album tracks from taller in more ways; joy division, obsession, ace reject. also 2 hearts grew on me lately, especially love that song musically.
Get ready for it to go downhill from this song forward. Mutya leaving was the biggest blow they ever had. 😪 It was never the same with Amelle. Nice voice but nothing extraordinary. This came from their last great album as well. This was the best line up.

@@Right_Direction_ Mutya is my ultimate Sugababe but Amelle’s version of Red Dress is great! But every other song Mutya destroys A-meal, especially Follow Me Home & Gotta Be You!
@@SimsEntertainmentNet I can just about tolerate her replacement on Red Dress, like you but not on any of the others. Gotta be You is hilariously bad, Follow Me Home hollow dead vocals.
Aw I liked their looks in this video lol. Mutya's is very different but I think it still lines up with her having the more adventurous nature out of all the group members. I enjoy "Ugly"; still not one of my faves in terms of song but I love the video. Amelle is right around the corner now, I believe the next single had to be re-recorded with her vocals because Mutya left the group after this particular release.
I'm so sorry (also to other commenters) but this may be my least favourite song of theirs, and one of the least 'Sugababes', as popular as it definitely was and is. The words don't even form sentences and I don't know what they're trying to say a lot of the time. I get the generic feel-good vibe, but so much of it is Dallas Austin word-salad. Also don't like the music. Forever sad this was the last official Mutya from the album - I remember she loved Follow Me Home. (But also hated Red Dress I think)
I definitely agree with the Dallas Austin reference, I would’ve preferred just the guitar before the beat dropped, it sort of lost the essence of the meaning of the lyrics when you add that beat layered into it but I also understand why they added that extra layer to connect to a mainstream audience which paid off.
You’re right about Follow Me Home and Red Dress. Mutya’s verse on Follow Me Home was written about her daughter, Tahlia. Rightly so, she hated that Amelle re-recorded Follow Me Home and hated the premise of the video.
@@Werdnasings No one was. But what they lacked with Mutya, they made up with Amelle. It all became very ‘polished’ but it worked because it became something ‘different’.
