Spain's Joel Gonzalez Bonilla defeats Korea's Lee Daehoon to win the gold medal in the men's taekwondo -58kg event at the London 2012 Olympic Games (8 August).
Taekwondo is a traditional Korean martial art, which means "the way of kicking and punching". In taekwondo, hands and feet can be used to overcome an opponent, but the trademark of the sport is its combination of kick movements. Taekwondo is one of the two Asian martial arts included on the Olympic programme. Taekwondo made its debut as a demonstration Olympic sport at the 1988 Seoul Games, and became an official medal sport at the 2000 Sydney Games.

In speed, Joel Gonzalez slower than Lee Dae Hoon a bit but he's very good in technical and calm. Lee Dae Hoon After being eaten by 3 points in the face at first, then he is began to keep out of temper, constant attacks continuity and get loopholes makes Joel Gonzalez had a chance to counter-attack. => I appreciate Joel Gonzalez. Speed is not everything.

Because a punch awards only one point and is used more commonly to just push someone off balance. Not only that, a punch has shorter range and nowadays they tend to split the players as soon as they even come into a clinch so there is almost no time to deliver a punch. It is usually better to opt for a high section crescent kick when they're in close quarters for 3 points instead of a measly punch for 1 point.

Jano School isn't that easy on Spain, you should not think the students fail because people in Spain are just dumb. As a person who has experienced the educational system of three countries(Lithuania, Spain and recently UK), I find myself pretty sure of what I say while telling you now that school in Spain is tough. There are a lot of contents, especially on secondary school and college, and usually lack of time. Furthermore, it should be taken into account how easy, in comparison with other countries, it is to become a teacher, and how some of them aren't dropped no matter how many parents complain just because they had good results at an exam of maybe twenty years ago.
      Ugh.

Dude it's the finals...this match is to decide whether or not you get gold. If they do all this fancy stuff you're talking about there is a chance that the opponent can use a counterattack, hence lossing. 90% of the kicks ARE round kicks because its safe and there is a possiblity to do combinations after a round kick, where as if you do a hook kick you're done for. If you miss the opponent kick.

    an destruido un deporte hermoso
por esto ya en muchos lugares
    ni se practica

    It's a sport.
Fencing is a sport - they don't use real swords and try to kill each other - Olympic Taekwondo is a sport - it's tactical and athletic, not 100% self defense.

There is no such thing as a superior fighting style, anyone who takes martial arts would know this. I practice Taekwondo and Muay Thai, each has its own advantage. Taekwondo gives brutal kicks, far more powerful than that of MMA and Muay thai. However, MMA produces a fighter who is good at everything.

    It's not meant as dis-respect. Just a mid-fight celebration.
Though it's not advised to, it's not an insult.
