In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Ironclad. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. Every time I see a new ironclad video, I check the description. When I see "Current Ironclad streak (before this video): 0", all I can say is "ugh..."

It will take a while for that to catch up to the youtube, but Baalor is now done with Clad streak attempts! He will take a short break and then start Silent streak attempts, so there will be lots of Silent on the youtube a few weeks from now.

Also, I strongly recommend changing the thumbnail of this video to Footwork + Abbacus + Barricade... Maybe even Juggarnaught too. Totally bonkers run.

Having Fun is the most optimal strat
Prismatic shard will make your card rewards worse %90 of the time but its fun. If I see it i click it. Worst case I lose the run, best case ill make the funniest deck. If you havent played feel no pain dark embrace shiv silent did you really play sts?
i don’t normally boss swap but i had a run with watcher where i had black star floor 1 and ended up with 40 relics at the end i’ve been having some crazy a20 runs taking options i normally don’t take that end up working out starting to enjoy these boss swaps

You've made me realized the value of Snecko Eyes. There are times where I thought they won't make sense, then I took them anyway and it somehow just made my deck work better.

What's the logic behind bottling the Dark Embrace instead of the Baricade? I'm always hoping for bottle when I play a Baricade deck, especially with Anchor! Being able to always drop it on turn one and save that 10 armor to setup entrench seems invaluable over an unupgradable Dark Embrace, but Baalor is 100x better than I am so I'm sure I'm missing something.
Having Dark Embrace right away means you have extra card draw to get to the Barricade faster.

i feel like you undervalue hemo a bit.. in a deck with 5 (4) bites (basically bite +s) its a lot of damage for 1 mana and you dont really pay any health
I was guessing what highest damage can be done in one hit?
Thinking of heavy blade with 999 str, under divine stance, against vulnerable enemy with paper phrog.
How much should that be?
The max you can deal is with poison with nightmare/catalyst ect. So much that you can integer overflow and glitch the game
Could you please explain how?
Is there no limit for poison stacks?

Yes
no they won't. 1 proc per exhaust no matter how much FNP.
Second reply is correct. However, say you exhaust a defend with a FNP active, Jugernaught will proc once for the block from defend and once for the FNP!

I have 18 deaths and no wins, clearly I must be terrible at this game.
Usually, how do you fail? Be more patient, play slower and review your options carefully. Silent is good at avoiding damage, so try to not leak health while you build your deck up. Silent have many archetypes that would work well: poison deck, shiv spam, etc.
Avoid elites until you have a plan. For example, Nob is dangerous for silent early on, so try to avoid elite nodes if you have too few attacks.
@@firmanimad thank u for your help and advice. I usually take a lot of damage early as I want to attack more so that the enemy doesn't get stronger with their buffs and then I get killed, especially by spheric guardian and sentrys which I always struggle against.

Me thinks Baalorlord is a bit obsessed with Ironclad runs compared to the other 3 lol. I cant blame him, i love the Clad too.
it is his favorite character but the reason there is so many ironclad runs is he was streak attempting it. As we head into Q2 he will be attempting silent now

Skill 90%?? If that were even close to true, it would either mean you are far worse at the game than your average player, which is cleanly not true, or you have been DELIBERATELY sabotaging your own winstreaks. I call pure BS.
the question was: what proportion would you attribute to pure random chance to complete a 20 streak?
90% skill, 10% chance just means: "if anyone gets a 20 streak, it will mostly be because they are skilled." - he's not saying "if you're skilled, then you get a 20 streak with 90% chance, luck does not matter."
if your win rate is 50% (which is pretty high for a20), you need 1 million attempts; if your win rate is 80%, you just need 100 attempts. so the skill level matters a lot more than "in this streak we high rolled" - you can't just high roll 20 consecutive runs.
