Sloan is a strong vocalist. He sounded a bit nervous in the beginning. Vocals a little shakey, but he really warmed up and finished strong! Great performance
Exactly, nerves probably. One of their strengths was the vocal harmonization. Really picked it up at 2:29 and on. Wish Ed and Les Hall would get together and tour again.
he is doing so much work playing this song... the guitar parts are pretty tricky and this is not an easy song to sing either. look up a guitar cover of the song... and hes killing it. Ed is such a boss. 99% of people would have hired a guitarist to do this lol
I mean I love these guys to death and damn right about the vocals his singing is crazy but I’ve seen a lot of singers play much more difficult guitar parts while singing lol that riff is not hard tbh
The drummer, Brian, now plays for DM Radio. There was talk about a reunion show with the original members, but Ed was not able to commit. We locals here in Columbia SC are hoping to nudge them back on stage after this covid stuff stops.
I literally had NO idea this band was from my native city till just now. I had no idea this song was probably made 15 miles away from my home when I was one. I’ve lived in Columbia my whole life and never knew. So cool!
Dr. FeelGooD Mobile Gaming They were bad ass and the way he can sing and play lead guitar is beyond awesome. Unfortunately they have broken up. He is singing Christian music after finding God and getting sober. Good for him though ❤️
I commend all singers out there that can play guitar and sing at the same time and can make it sound so perfect.... 🙂👍 I swear to God, it is very difficult to do, at least for me.
so lucky i got to see this band so many times back in 04. tony's backing vocals and DJing was a HUGEEEE part of the sound, and you have to just love his harmonies here! so few bands sound good on live TV and this sounds just fantastic.
One of my all time favs!! I just started listening again, I had forgotten about them, yeah, I just slapped myself. I get these lyrics so much better today. Cuz I am an addict too. This song hits hard now, gonna get the lyrics on a poster, hope my hubby reads it....cuz I never meant to be so cold, either. It goes with addiction....instead of Dear Cocaine, it's Dear Opiates...on harm reduction, forever...
He wasn't completely useless, he's actually their DJ. He did the spins and digital audio, the band's name formed by cross/fading rock and electronic pop rock. Oddly, their biggest hit didn't include Tony's keys or guitar parts - Cold just required his backup/co vocals.... and it was terribly awkward when they played it live because he didn't really have to play an instrument. I watched Eddie and Tony play it acoustic around when Colors hit the radio, you'd be amazed at how good the guy really is 💁🏻♂️
Saw these guys at a little club in KC back in the day. They were the middle slot between Submersed and Alter Bridge. They sounded killer. This ‘04 or ‘05. Something like that. Pretty decent butt rock.
These guys are the physical embodiment of the early 2000’s
i used to love this fucking band. lol my email was cfskater89
These guys are my favorite Post-grunge band
Yes, and better than so many from that era who got way more play than these guys.
never meant to be so cold what i really meant to say is iam sorry for the way iamnever meant to be so cold i guess for me theres just no hope
Tru That!!!!
Back up singer looks like he eats hot wings with beer for lunch everyday
He is from buffalo, so that makes sense.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
he's not ever overweight bro lol what mabe literally a few pounds he is not fat
probably rides a motorcycle everywhere as well.
He sounds like the lead singer of Franco (and I thought he was but then I realized that Franco is a Filipino band)
Sloan is a strong vocalist. He sounded a bit nervous in the beginning. Vocals a little shakey, but he really warmed up and finished strong! Great performance
Tru that. Awesome performance
Definitely flat in the first verse and chorus, but he put it together after that.
Did get better but I'm with you NERVES
Exactly, nerves probably. One of their strengths was the vocal harmonization. Really picked it up at 2:29 and on. Wish Ed and Les Hall would get together and tour again.
that’s why you should always warm your vocals up. it’s like trying to play a sport without stretching first
The back up vocalist looks like the kind of guy that gets drunk at a Chuck E. Cheese and starts a fight.
One day I'll be old enough to tell people this song is a classic hidden gem.
"Never meant to beat stone cold"
WHAT!!??
Jeff Dubia 🤣
And that’s the bottom line
😂😂 I like that
stone cold 3:16 just whooped your ass
Paul Jr. really killin it on the backup vocals
🤣🤣🤣🤘🤘
I scrolled past and didnt get it.
I was about 3 posts down when it clicked.
lololololol this had me dying
Bro, I have always thought this!!
@@brianwill1090 In the actual song, the harmonies are so good on the backup vocals! That's honestly what made me look for the song.
Damn! Just noticed the lead singer is playing a 7-string!
That's a first, Respect!
he's not using a bottom one all along the song
Good eye.
That guitar is no more.
7 string in drop D...lol
He doesn’t even use the seventh string what so ever
he is doing so much work playing this song... the guitar parts are pretty tricky and this is not an easy song to sing either. look up a guitar cover of the song... and hes killing it.
Ed is such a boss. 99% of people would have hired a guitarist to do this lol

@@muchferocity you say that like you know me weirdo
They sounded great there and being a three piece at that .
@arthur marsden , please play that solo amd upload it on your channel , i wanna see how easily u can actually play that solo
Their voices together sound soooo good! Great band
Their Grungy Voices Sound soooo good!, Great Post-grunge band
I always feel like this band is so underrated
Had a fire first album but that’s it
They truly are
@@bp4816 Really? I thought all 3 albums were solid.
They only had that one album honestly. I wont lie they sound like shit live haha.
The way he sings 'really' at 0:43. This dude is amazing.
Try singing it "reel-uhh-lee" you can do it too
I totally didnt realized they had a Lead Back Up Vocalist
If I remember correctly he was primarily on turntables, they just didn’t use any for this song so all he got to do was backup vocals lmfao
@@ridleysomeliana-lauer5814and he absolutely killed it, his part is def my favorite part of this song
@@Floor74Music agreed hard as shit
Imperfections are way more beautiful then lip synced ❤️. The singer is so talented ❤️.
0:58 I love the power when he says "say"
Damn, I wonder if they ever imagined when writing this song, there would be an 11 year old singing his heart out with this album in his Walkman
Damn this was too accurate 🥲
Walkman , dude I pods were out when this shot dropped
Doesn’t mean I had one lol
Tony Byroads is a legend.
The drummer, Brian, now plays for DM Radio. There was talk about a reunion show with the original members, but Ed was not able to commit. We locals here in Columbia SC are hoping to nudge them back on stage after this covid stuff stops.
My dad rebuilt his house when it burned down. Brian gave my dad some pics from the early days of the band.
Crossfade reunion would be sick
I've wondered why there is so little social media from these guys.
I would of loved to see them live
I literally had NO idea this band was from my native city till just now. I had no idea this song was probably made 15 miles away from my home when I was one. I’ve lived in Columbia my whole life and never knew. So cool!
That solo was sick
Love this band so much
2019 anybody still visit? I love this performance and all of their music. Still hoping Ed brings them back.
Hi bro,we´re always..they rock a this.I love them
Mauricio Prado lol. Yeah he’s found God and is clean it seems. Happy for him but we all need more of this music in our lives.
I can't believe i discover this tune so late
Dr. FeelGooD Mobile Gaming They were bad ass and the way he can sing and play lead guitar is beyond awesome. Unfortunately they have broken up. He is singing Christian music after finding God and getting sober. Good for him though ❤️
@@badflowerblossom228 how should I search him up on UA-cam???
Man this is still such a bangin' tune
So true bestie
Always will be
I’m pretty sure this is the first time that I heard them perform this live in the original key.
This song pops into my head all the time.
“Here we go” ❤️ Tony
I love how they compliment each other it doesn't feel like one's trying to out do the other
Vocals on point for a live performance , I miss the days when i heard these songs on the radio
13 14 yrs old are you serious it doesn't feel like that long I remember watching this the night it aired dam I'm feeling old
Now it's been almost 2 decades now. I was about 4 going on 5
This song video came with my PSP back in the day
It takes some serious talent to be not only the lead singer, but also the lead guitarist at the same time.
Back when bands didn't lip sync on live TV
Killing backing vocals
I commend all singers out there that can play guitar and sing at the same time and can make it sound so perfect.... 🙂👍
I swear to God, it is very difficult to do, at least for me.
U have corey taylor with stone sour, ben Burnley, adam gontier, sully erna, nergal, singer from sick puppies and a lot more
@@aliskilletmanlol can’t believe you forgot james hetfield
@@xarch7208 i wasn't a Metallica fan at that time
Kudos to the film crew for showing Tony when he sang. Kimmel taping was frustrating.
@ 2:35 he really hit that 😤
Hit what
@@badabeargaming3299 a middle finger maybe haha I doubt it...would've been epic, though :p
@@badabeargaming3299he hit the, uh… the umm, you know… the thing.
My Sony Ericsson w700 walkman has this song as ringtone since then im in love with this song.!
The tuned down the key of the live performance.
Love how they sing the last chorus. Wish it was higher in the mix on the album, but cool live nonetheless! Nostalgic overload = this song.
2020 still 🔥🔥🔥
🙌🔥
im jamming this album on way to work this morning after all these years still great
This song is still a jam. BGV’s compliment the lead so nicely.

The drummers facial expressions look absolutely insane.

Amazing!!
Loved, loved, loved, loved them!!!! I remember jamming out to this album while in high school! What great memories 🥰
"Here we go" and then Tony left the band.
2:29
If you play music, that "here we go" before the interlude hits different
Best song ever 💙💙💙💙

Generals: Command amd conquer Zero Hour Reborn soundtrack " Cold" a very nostalgic song
This track was amazing. In touch with lead singer about doing mashups/remixes to!
Those first few notes he always blows but then hes amazing after
Ole dude on the low harmony makes the song. Hate he left the band.
Backing singers are fairly easy to find
@@ShaneFagan especially one that talk-sings the low register.
